Job Title: Process Engineer Job Description
We are seeking a motivated Process Engineer to support and improve manufacturing operations. This role will focus on optimizing production processes, improving efficiency, troubleshooting process issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining high standards for quality and performance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes in wiring, fabrication (sheet metal and bus), and welding to identify areas for improvement, including meeting standards requirements, reducing waste, enhancing productivity, and minimizing downtime.
- Develop and implement process enhancements, including the introduction of automation, lean manufacturing principles, and advanced technologies.
- Create SOPs, work instructions, flow diagrams, and training materials.
- Evaluate and recommend improvements to the overall release process from Engineering to Production Operations.
- Advocate for additions, clarifications, and completeness of drawings, BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical layouts, and panel/infrastructure documentation.
- Validate work instructions, job travelers, routings, production notes, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with the QA Manager on the implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures, including inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Collaborate with the QA Manager, Engineering, Test, and Production teams to resolve quality-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive actions.
- Identify documentation gaps, process inefficiencies, and recurring issues, and drive corrective actions.
- Lead or support improvement initiatives related to workflow, BOM structure, standard designs, and documentation accuracy.
- Align with Operations leadership regarding ERP/MRP system improvements.
- Coordinate with Engineering disciplines and departments to ensure integration of electrical designs with mechanical, structural, and architectural elements.
- Become familiar with the operation of newly installed equipment and tooling and incorporate it into existing processes.
Essential Skills
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; experience with electrical products and equipment.
- Continuous improvement/Lean experience.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes for electrical equipment, metal fabrication, wiring, and assembly.
- Ability to train and coach personnel on new processes and existing process changes.
- Proficiency in reviewing BOMs, mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and production documentation using Autodesk Vault, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and engineering change management processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in power generation.
- Electrical enclosure industry experience.
- Understanding of plant layout, power distribution, voltage, and switchgear.
Work Environment
The work environment is in a very clean new facility with a modern open concept office environment. This role includes 50% time on the floor, adding in new equipment and new processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bedford, OH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $53.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
