The role works closely with senior support analysts, development teams, infrastructure teams and external vendors to diagnose issues, coordinate resolution and reduce operational disruption.

The role reports to the Head of Murex Technology and forms part of the wider Murex Technology support function. It requires close collaboration with users and partner teams to ensure incidents are prioritised appropriately, communications remain clear and the platform operates in a safe, controlled and resilient manner

Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:

·       Provide day-to-day production support for the Murex platform, responding to incidents, service requests and user queries in line with agreed priorities and service expectations.

·       Investigate issues across trade capture, lifecycle events, market data, pricing inputs, valuations, sensitivities, confirmations, settlements, interfaces and batch processes, working with relevant teams to determine root cause and restore service.

·       Act as a technology partner to Front Office, Risk, Product Control, Operations and Finance users, providing clear communication on issue status, business impact, workarounds and resolution progress.

·       Monitor application health, overnight and intraday processing, interfaces and operational controls, proactively identifying failed or delayed processes and initiating appropriate recovery actions.

·       Record incidents and service requests accurately, maintaining clear audit trails, investigation notes, ownership, actions and closure evidence within the relevant service management tools.

·       Escalate complex functional or technical issues to senior support analysts, Murex development, infrastructure teams, external vendors or other system owners, and coordinate activities through to resolution.

·       Support root-cause analysis and problem management for recurring incidents, contributing to permanent fixes and improvements that reduce operational risk and manual intervention.

·       Participate in release, upgrade and change activities, including impact assessment, functional testing, regression testing, implementation support and post-release validation.

·       Maintain support procedures, knowledge articles, operational runbooks and team documentation, ensuring information is current, accurate and accessible.

·       Contribute to service reporting, incident trend analysis and continuous improvement initiatives across the Murex Technology function.

- Operate with a strong risk and controls mindset, complying with change, incident, access, audit, cybersecurity and operational risk requirements

Required Experience and Skills

·       Experience in an application support, production support or technology operations role within Capital Markets, Investment Banking or a comparable financial services environment.

·       Working knowledge of the Murex platform, or demonstrable experience supporting a comparable front-to-back trading and risk management system.

·       Good understanding of derivative products, trade booking models and lifecycle events across one or more of Rates, Credit, Equity or FX.

·       Understanding of front-to-back business processes, including trade capture, position management, valuations, risk, confirmations and settlements.

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues methodically across functional and technical components.

·       Working knowledge of SQL, application logs, batch processing and system interfaces; familiarity with technologies such as JMS, MQ, JSON or XML would be beneficial.

·       Understanding of incident management, service management and production support disciplines, with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow controlled processes.

·       Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Awareness of operational risk, information security, audit and regulatory considerations relevant to trading technology platforms

Personal Requirements:

·       Demonstrates a proactive and service-focused approach, taking ownership of issues and maintaining momentum through to resolution.

·       Exhibits strong analytical ability, curiosity and attention to detail when diagnosing complex or time-sensitive production problems.

·       Communicates clearly and professionally, providing concise and accurate updates to users, colleagues and stakeholders.

·       Works effectively as part of a distributed team and collaborates constructively across business, support, development and infrastructure functions.

·       Operates calmly under pressure, applying sound prioritisation and judgement during business-critical incidents.

·       Demonstrates a willingness to learn, build Murex functional and technical expertise, and share knowledge with colleagues.

·       Maintains strong personal accountability, accuracy and discipline in the execution of support activities.

- Applies a strong risk and controls mindset, ensuring work is performed safely, consistently and in accordance with established procedures
