Preschool Director

AUSTIN RIDGE BIBLE CHURCH: OUR PURPOSE

OVERVIEW OF POSITION

The Nursery/Preschool Director will champion Ridge Kids Nursery/Preschool small groups to raise the next generation to Know, Grow, and Serve Jesus.

- KNOW Jesus: Connecting kids with their Savior. The first step in hearing the Gospel and coming to a relationship in knowing Christ.

- GROW in Jesus: Helping kids and families grow closer in their relationship with Jesus through worship, Bible Study, small groups, large groups, and resources to continue the conversations through the week.

- SERVE Jesus: Providing opportunities for kids and adults to take that next step in their growth by serving others and serving God.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

- Recruit, coordinate, train, encourage, and develop volunteers in the nursery and preschool programs

- Develop a core ministry team of volunteers to coordinate Sunday morning ministry areas and cast vision

- Lead and supervise volunteer teams on Sunday mornings to facilitate effective ministry in the nursery and preschool.

- Maintain excellent communication with parents, volunteers, and ARBC staff

- Help develop and communicate policies and procedures for Ridge Kids

- Maintain ministry spaces, including inspecting equipment (such as toys, play equipment, etc.) for safety and functionality. Remove or request repairs for all broken equipment ensuring that all rooms are equipped with age-appropriate toys and supplies

- Work with the Ridge Kids team to facilitate outreach events, including Summer Blast (which involves editing camp curriculum, preparing supplies, organizing schedules, building team of coordinators, recruiting and training volunteers, decorating campus areas, and other tasks as requested)

- Attend weekly Ridge Kids staff meetings, church staff meetings, ministry lead meetings, conferences, retreats, and complete monthly reports as requested

- Draft, execute, and update weekly goals; goals are set each quarter

- Edit and prepare weekly curriculum, and prep classrooms for Sunday

- Help Ridge Kids team facilitate SonShine School Chapel twice per month

- Complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

Key Competencies and Qualifications:

- Mature faith and vibrant relationship with Jesus that models a life of enthusiasm, integrity, servant-leadership, prayer, and commitment to Gods Word

- Is a member of Austin Ridge and attends services regularly.

- Agreement with the mission, values, and vision of ARBC leadership

- Works with the Next Gen Pastor in establishing and administrating the budget

- Establishes goals for this ministry and implements strategies for their attainment through the power and direction of the Holy Spirit.

- Vision and passion for connecting young children to Christ in fun, stimulating, age-appropriate ways

- Experience and enthusiasm for leading and shepherding parents, kids, and volunteers

- Ability to work on a team towards specific goals in a mutually edifying and supportive manner

- Ability to work on multiple tasks, be flexible and work with little supervision

- Proficiency in Rock data management system, Checkr, Word, Excel, OneDrive and Microsoft Office

- Highly relational with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills gifted in leadership, administration, encouragement, and development of volunteers

- Strong internal drive, self-starter, and natural achiever

- Cultural fit with Austin Ridge Bible Church
