About this role
We are seeking an experienced Clinic Manager to join our team of professionals. If you meet the qualifications below and are committed to growth in a diverse and inclusive community, this may be a great fit for you. We seek to fill this role with a strong candidate who will provide excellent and compassionate clinical patient care based upon the nursing process; being effectively involved with maintaining the standard of care for assigned patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
The Clinic Manager is responsible for the operation of the Procedure Area (Operating Room, Recovery Area, Embryo Transfer Rooms) and orchestrating the smooth operation of the clinic floor and patient flow throughout the day, as well as proactively managing and resolving patient issues that arise. The Clinic Manager trains and schedules all designated department staff so they may deliver safe, effective and efficient nursing care to our patients. In addition, the manager is responsible for planning, assessing, monitoring and improving patient care, and reports significant findings to the Clinical Director.
What you will do:
- Lead the Procedure Area and clinic floor. Supervise Medical Assistants, manage daily scheduling and coverage, and keep patient flow running smoothly, with excellent patient care as the focus.
- Uphold clinical standards. Help develop policies and procedures, and make sure documentation and operations meet internal standards and regulatory requirements, including Quad A certification, HIPAA, infection control, and controlled substance rules.
- Keep the Procedure Area ready. Make sure equipment is maintained and supplies are stocked, including medications, emergency stock, and crash carts. Coordinate repairs with equipment vendors.
- Support patients directly. Admit, monitor, and recover patients before and after procedures, assist physicians with in-office procedures, and step in to perform Medical Assistant duties when needed.
- Coordinate across teams. Work with nurses, physicians, the Clinical Director, and outside partners such as anesthesia, urology, and consulting REIs. Resolve patient issues and escalate concerns when needed.
- Develop your team. Provide strong training and ongoing development, build a culture of teamwork and support, and lead at least two team-building activities each year.
- Handle clinical, clerical, and environmental tasks as needed. This includes charting, managing medical records, scheduling appointments, preparing rooms, and setting up equipment.
- Grow your expertise. Understand IUI, IVF, FET, and egg freezing cycles, or gain this competency within six months of hire. Stay current on best practices through professional development.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Mentor and develop your team by guiding mid-level and junior staff, giving feedback that supports each persons growth, and creating an environment where people succeed and grow professionally.
- Build and manage your team by leading workforce planning, interviewing candidates, and making final hiring decisions.
- Handle performance and employee relations by recognizing strong work, addressing performance issues, and resolving complaints fairly.
- Shape the functions future by setting the strategic direction for the Procedure Area and clinic floor, and serving as the liaison between staff and the executive committee.
- Manage resources by working with the Clinical Director and Senior Managing Director on the annual budget for the Procedure Area and clinic floor.
