We are currently hiring for an Accountant within Arla Foods, Oman. Working closely with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain, HR and external partners, you will help ensure that accounting transactions, reconciliations and reporting activities are completed accurately and on time. The position reports to the Head of Accounting.

How you will make an impact

You will be responsible for day-to-day accounting operations for Arla Oman. Your work will support accurate financial records, timely transaction processing, internal controls, statutory compliance, closing activities and effective business reporting.

- Process and review supplier and customer invoices, credit notes, collections, payments and journal entries in line with Arla policies and the approved delegation of authority.
- Support monthly, quarterly and year-end closing, including accruals, provisions, reporting schedules and intercompany confirmations.
- Prepare and validate balance sheet, bank, vendor and customer reconciliations, while following up on ageing items, overdue balances and customer risk.
- Help ensure compliance with Oman VAT, tax requirements, e-invoicing developments, internal controls and audit documentation standards.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and management reporting, while maintaining accurate digital records and coordinating with relevant business teams and external partners.

Business needs may require visits to depots, warehouses, banks, auditors or government offices.

What will make you successful

You hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline and bring strong accounting knowledge, reconciliation capability and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. You understand internal controls and approval workflows and have good knowledge of Oman VAT, basic tax compliance, audit requirements and local statutory practices.

ERP experience is important for the role. Experience with SAP or D365, Power BI and other digital finance tools would be an advantage rather than an essential requirement. You communicate confidently in English, while Arabic language skills would be beneficial.

Your accuracy, integrity and sense of ownership will help you succeed. You are comfortable following up proactively, solving problems collaboratively and managing deadlines without compromising confidentiality or compliance
