About this role

The Rol e

This is a newly created role supporting the launch and growth of a specialist Life reinsurance broking venture. The Operations Manager will build and maintain the operating framework that enables transactions to move efficiently from initial opportunity through placement, implementation and ongoing administration.

Working closely with the Head of Life Reinsurance Broking, the role will coordinate activity across Legal, Compliance and Risk, Client Administration, Analytics, and client and reinsurer counterparties. It will bring structure, pace and visibility to each live opportunity by helping define process timetables, clarify responsibilities, track approvals and maintain accurate status reporting.

The role will also be responsible for strengthening operational discipline across onboarding, documentation and governance. This includes coordinating client, reinsurer and transaction onboarding requirements; maintaining auditable records of approvals, market lists, confidentiality arrangements, data-room access, conflicts checks and compliance sign-offs; and ensuring that jurisdictional, regulatory and internal process requirements are captured in practical checklists and operating procedures.

About You

You will bring experience in insurance, reinsurance, financial services operations, transaction support, programme management, client administration or a related regulated environment. Strong organisational skills are essential, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, documents and stakeholders simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

The successful candidate will understand confidentiality, data protection, compliance and controlled information-sharing requirements, and will be confident working with senior stakeholders, technical specialists, clients, reinsurers and external advisers. The role requires clear written and verbal communication, practical judgement and a willingness to help build scalable processes in a new and evolving business.

Prior experience supporting reinsurance placement, treaty administration, broking operations, actuarial consulting projects or capital-related insurance transactions would be valuable. Familiarity with Life insurance products, reinsurance structures, bordereaux, claims administration, treaty documentation, reinsurer due-diligence processes, international projects and operating-procedure design would also be advantageous. Personally, you will be highly organised, proactive, commercially aware, discreet with confidential information and able to impose structure on ambiguity without over-engineering.
