Cherry Bekaert Recruiting is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting team with month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and accounts payable oversight. This role will have responsibility for complex reconciliations, including investment accounts, bank accounts, and credit cards, while also supporting the AP process through invoice review and approvals.
Responsibilities
- Perform month-end account reconciliations and support the monthly close process.
- Prepare and post journal entries .
- Reconcile investment accounts , including researching and resolving discrepancies.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations .
- Support the accounts payable process , including reviewing and approving AP transactions.
- Assist with accounting activity and workflow within Bill.com .
- Maintain accurate financial records in Sage Intacct .
- Provide documentation and schedules for the annual audit .
- Assist with preparation and support related to the organization's Form 990 .
- Research and resolve account discrepancies and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is maintained.
- Provide additional accounting support as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Prior accounting experience with a strong understanding of month-end close, reconciliations, and journal entries .
- Sage Intacct experience required.
- Bill.com experience preferred.
- Experience with accounts payable and AP approvals .
- Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations .
- Experience with investment account reconciliations strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting audits and Form 990 preparation is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
