The multi-asset portfolio solutions include but are not limited to: Target Date Solutions, Model Portfolios, and Custom Solutions globally.

As a Solutions Analyst - Capital Markets Assumptions (CMA), you will join a team of collegial, intellectually rigorous researchers within Capital’s investment organization. You will play a central role in the research, development, and ongoing evolution of Capital Group’s capital markets assumptions across global asset classes.

The role combines quantitative research, fundamental investment judgment, and collaboration with investment professionals across Capital Group. You will help translate Capital’s deep investment research capabilities into forward-looking assumptions that inform asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk analysis, and multi-asset solutions.

“As a Solutions Analyst, you will contribute to the team in the following ways”

·       Research, develop, and maintain Capital Group’s long-term capital markets assumptions across global asset classes, including public equities, fixed income, currencies, and alternative investments.

·         Develop forward-looking estimates of expected returns, risk, correlations, and other capital-market inputs used in strategic asset allocation, portfolio construction, and multi-asset research.

·         Combine quantitative techniques with fundamental and forward-looking investment insights to develop robust and explainable capital markets assumptions.

·         Conduct research on the economic and market drivers of asset-class returns, including valuations, income, growth, inflation, interest rates, credit conditions, currencies, and risk premia.

·         Perform research and develop recommendations for capital markets assumptions for consideration by relevant investment oversight and governance committees.

·         Conduct deep-dive and thematic research on topics that may affect long-term capital-market outcomes, including structural changes in markets, macroeconomic regimes, valuation relationships, and evolving asset classes.

·         Research capital markets across multiple geographies and currencies and evaluate the implications of currency exposure and hedging for global investors.

·         Develop and maintain proprietary analytical models, datasets, and research frameworks supporting the CMA process, including tools used for estimation, scenario analysis, simulation, and sensitivity analysis.

·         Evaluate existing methodologies and identify opportunities to improve the robustness, consistency, and investment relevance of Capital Group’s CMA framework.

·         Partner with Capital Group investment professionals and internal subject-matter experts to incorporate relevant bottom-up and fundamental perspectives into the CMA research process.

·         Communicate the methodology, assumptions, sensitivities, and investment rationale underlying Capital Group’s capital markets assumptions to Portfolio Managers, analysts, oversight committees, and other internal stakeholders.

·         Utilize industry publications, external research, market databases, and Capital Group’s proprietary investment research and data resources.

·         Collaborate with technology and data teams to enhance the infrastructure, data, and analytical tools supporting CMA research and production.

·         Thoughtfully apply emerging analytical capabilities, including AI, where they can strengthen research workflows, data analysis, model development, or research productivity while maintaining appropriate investment judgment and controls.

·         Identify new areas of research and develop creative approaches to complex problems affecting long-term asset-class expectations and multi-asset investing.

“I am the person Capital Group is looking for”

·         You have significant relevant investment research experience, including demonstrated experience developing or researching capital markets assumptions, strategic asset allocation, or closely related long-horizon capital-market frameworks. At least 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

·         You have experience researching global capital markets across multiple asset classes and currencies. Experience incorporating alternative or private asset classes into capital markets assumptions is a plus.

·         You bring a strong understanding of the fundamental drivers of long-term asset-class returns and are comfortable integrating quantitative analysis with forward-looking investment judgment.

·         You have deep analytical and problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with time-series analysis, asset-pricing concepts, econometric models, statistical modeling, simulation, and macroeconomic analysis.

·         You understand the relationships among economic growth, inflation, interest rates, valuations, currencies, risk premia, and asset returns and can translate those relationships into practical investment assumptions.

·         You have experience developing, testing, documenting, and maintaining quantitative investment models and research frameworks.

·         You demonstrate the ability to develop investment recommendations and support conclusions with relevant quantitative and qualitative evidence.

·         You can communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to investment professionals and other stakeholders and can explain both the methodology and investment intuition behind your research.

·         You are comfortable presenting research and recommendations in rigorous investment-governance settings and responding constructively to challenge and debate.

·         You have strong academic credentials, preferably including an advanced degree or equivalent qualifications in finance, economics, econometrics, mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related quantitative field. A PhD in economics, finance, or a related discipline is a plus.

·         You have proficiency in Python, R, MATLAB, or similar analytical languages and experience working with investment and economic datasets. Familiarity with Bloomberg, FactSet, or comparable platforms is a plus.

·         You are organized, detail-oriented, and committed to producing high-quality research and recommendations on a timely basis.
