About this role
4+ years of experience using some of the technologies mentioned below:
- SAP EPM Platforms: SAP Analytics Cloud Planning, SAP BPC (Embedded on BW/4HANA), SAP Group Reporting, SAP Profitability and Performance Management. This includes configuring dimensions, hierarchies, versions and scenarios for planning, budgeting, forecasting and consolidation processes.
- SAC Planning: Practical experience with:
- account-based and measure-based models
- designing input forms and planning scenarios
- automating with data actions, advanced formulas and allocations
- configuring Live and Import connections (S/4HANA, BW, Datasphere), including SAP Cloud Connector, flat file and API loads, and scheduled imports
- managing roles and permissions
- developing Analytics Designer applications and dashboards that combine actuals and plan data
- SAP BPC Embedded / BW-IP: Understanding of the BPC Embedded architecture and how it evolved from BPC Standard. Hands-on experience with:
- real-time InfoProviders, aggregation levels and CompositeProviders
- planning functions (allocations, distributions, copy) and FOX formulas
- BW queries, including hierarchies and input variables
- Analysis for Office integration
- Business Content for planning scenarios
- Financial Logic & Consolidation: Designing and implementing calculation rules, allocation logic, consolidation scripts and intercompany eliminations, ensuring compliance with IFRS, US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
- Data Platform: Experience with:
- SAP Datasphere: fact and dimension models, Business Builder, data federation, and integration with BW/4HANA, S/4HANA and external SQL or cloud sources
- row-level security, and synchronizing roles and permissions with SAC and other consuming systems
- using Datasphere models as data sources for SAC Planning
- HANA Calculation Views for advanced reporting scenarios
- Development: Proficiency in ABAP, SQL and JavaScript for custom scripting, and familiarity with API-based data exchange.
- Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and of business processes for planning (finance, sales, supply chain), with the ability to troubleshoot query performance and data load times.
- Ability to translate business requirements from the CFO area into detailed technical specifications, with consistent data models, validation rules and traceability between requirement and configuration.
- Demonstrated fluency in using AI assistants (e.g. Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) as part of daily delivery work, while critically validating AI output to ensure calculations, allocations and eliminations reconcile. This includes:
- drafting and debugging advanced formulas, data action scripts and FOX logic
- translating planning requirements into model designs
- producing specifications, test cases and user documentation
- Team-player who can also work independently with limited supervision
- Good communication skills with the ability to develop strong client relationships
- Graduate of economics studies (Finance, Accounting or Cybernetics) or computer science (focus in databases, data modelling, analytics)
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with SAC predictive forecasting, Smart Predict and Joule in planning scenarios
- Participation in all phases of at least one full-lifecycle SAP EPM implementation, with hands-on experience in at least one of the tools above
- Implement, configure and maintain SAP EPM solutions covering planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial consolidation and management reporting
- Independently deliver complete functional components within financial transformation projects
- Analyze business requirements from finance and controlling users and translate them into robust models and configurations
- Build reports, input schedules, dashboards and stories in SAC or Analysis for Office for controlling and management reporting, following performance and usability best practices
- Support and coach junior colleagues in configuration, testing and defect resolution
