Estimator And Drafter

Job Title: Estimator Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. This role uniquely combines drafting, estimating, and project management skills to ensure the success of our projects.
Responsibilities
- Receive requests for quotes via incoming calls, emails, or from outside sales.
- Generate material takeoffs and submit them to suppliers for quotes.
- Calculate the time required for all fabrication processes.
- Enter estimates in the ERP system.
- Prepare estimates and formal quotes for customers.
- Communicate with clients to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams including fabrication, installation, and purchasing.
- Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
- Maintain customer relationships and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience in sales, drafting, or fabrication shop floor.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of construction or fabrication processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple projects.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally/regionally.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in steel fabrication estimation (3-5 years).
- Capability to read and analyze blueprints.
- Project management experience.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
Work Environment
The role is on-site, Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, in a fabrication environment. Travel to customer sites may be required during the day, but never overnight. The position offers the opportunity to work in a small team with potential for growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Albany, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job
classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be
