Co-Op Student – Truss & Panel Production

Position Summary
The Co-Op Student – Truss & Panel Production position provides hands-on experience in the manufacturing and assembly of roof trusses and wall panels. Working under the guidance of experienced team members, the student will learn production processes, workplace safety practices, and basic manufacturing skills while supporting daily operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist production team members with the assembly and preparation of roof trusses and wall panels.
- Learn to identify, measure, and organize lumber and other production materials.
- Assist with staging materials and maintaining an organized work area.
- Observe and learn how to read basic production drawings and specifications.
- Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in job-related training and complete assigned tasks under supervision.
- Maintain good attendance, demonstrate a willingness to learn, and work cooperatively with team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned that are appropriate for the student's training, age, and experience.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an approved high school Co-Op or career technical education program.
- Interest in construction, carpentry, manufacturing, or skilled trades.
- Ability to follow instructions and work safely in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and accept constructive feedback.
- Ability to perform assigned physical tasks safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Safety & Training Requirements
All work must be performed under appropriate supervision and in accordance with company safety policies, applicable child labor laws, and school Co-Op program requirements. Operation of machinery, power tools, forklifts, or other hazardous equipment is permitted only when legally authorized and specifically approved by the company.
