Interim Commercial Counsel

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group is seeking an Interim or Interim-to-Permanent Commercial Counsel for the next 3-4 months+, with potential for conversion
Overview : We are seeking an Interim or Interim-to-Permanent Commercial Counsel to support a growing manufacturing company in Illinois with all commercial matters and general business counseling
Company: Global manufacturer of storage, handling, and workplace safety products
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on commercial experience supporting in-house legal teams, including CLM tools and familiarity with matters outside of commercial, including a combination of Employment, IP, Regulatory, HR, and Trade
Location: Remote, with local preferred for conversion

Responsibilities Include:
  Working at the direction and discretion of the Client’s General Counsel, the Interim Commercial Counsel shall support and manage all matters related to the legal team, employment, regulatory, and, to a lesser degree, trade compliance functions. Further responsibilities include:

Act as the point of contact for all commercial matters, including contract management, negotiations, redlining, drafting, and reviewing myriad commercial agreements (MSAs, SOWs, Procurement, Vendor, and the like)
Counsel the business on all commercial matters, in addition to wide-ranging business needs, including Employment, IP Management, HR, Regulatory, and Trade
Desire to take on ad hoc legal requests from both internal and external parties in a generalist capacity
Leverage technology tools to create efficiencies within the role

Qualifications Include:

JD and an active and in good standing license to practice law in the United States
5+ years of experience supporting an in-house legal team
5+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating myriad commercial agreements
3+ years of experience and understanding of CLM matters and tools
Familiarity and experience with general business legal matter counseling, including any combination of Employment, IP, HR, Regulatory, and Trade Compliance
