Rippling gives businesses one place to run HR, IT, and Finance. It brings together all of the workforce systems that are normally scattered across a company, like payroll, expenses, benefits, and computers. For the first time ever, you can manage and automate every part of the employee lifecycle in a single system.

Take onboarding, for example. With Rippling, you can hire a new employee anywhere in the world and set up their payroll, corporate card, computer, benefits, and even third-party apps like Slack and Microsoft 365—all within 90 seconds.

Based in San Francisco, CA, Rippling has raised $1.85B+ from the world’s top investors—including Kleiner Perkins, Founders Fund, Sequoia, Greenoaks, and Bedrock—and was named one of America's best startup employers by Forbes.

We prioritize candidate safety. Please be aware that all official communication will only be sent from @ Rippling.com addresses.

About the Team

The Finance Accounting team builds the accounting foundation behind Rippling’s Finance products. We help customers turn the activity happening across spend, procurement, reimbursements, and other finance workflows into accurate, auditable data in their ERP.

This is a high-leverage product area where accounting infrastructure, ERP connectivity, and AI automation meet. The team’s work spans the full lifecycle of financial data: helping customers configure accounting rules, validate transactions before they post, recover when syncs fail, and ultimately close their books with more confidence and less manual work.

About the role

We’re looking for a Product Lead to lead Finance Accounting at Rippling. You will own the accountant experience across Rippling’s Finance products and help define the future of accounting automation on top of Rippling’s platform.

Your mandate spans two important problems. First, you will build the accounting infrastructure, workflows, and ERP integrations required for Rippling to serve complex enterprise Finance customers. Second, you will help create a new generation of AI-powered accounting workflows that automate manual close work — from validating transaction coding and configuration readiness, to recovering failed syncs, reconciling activity, and preparing adjustments.

Rippling sits in a unique position between the systems where business activity originates and the ERP where the official books live. That gives us the context to automate work accountants perform manually today and to build an accounting product that can become a major platform in its own right.

What you will do

- Set the product strategy and roadmap for Finance Accounting, with a clear point of view on how Rippling should help finance teams translate their operational activity in Rippling into accurate accounting outcomes.
- Build the core accounting platform behind Rippling’s Finance products, including the workflows customers use to configure rules, map data, post to their ERP, and resolve issues when syncs fail.
- Design product experiences that give accountants confidence in the accuracy, completeness, and auditability of their books.
- Lead the development of AI-assisted accounting workflows that help customers validate transactions, identify exceptions, recover from failures, and reduce manual close work.
- Partner deeply with engineering and design to turn complex accounting and integration problems into intuitive, reliable product experiences.
- Spend time with customers, implementation teams, support, accounting experts, and ERP partners to understand where accounting workflows break down and where the product can remove friction.
- Define how Rippling should support enterprise customers and their unique needs, like multi-entity setups, tax and currency needs, and high expectations for controls and reporting.

What you will need

- 7+ years of product management experience, ideally working on complex B2B software.
- Strong product judgment and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into a clear strategy.
- Experience building technically complex products that depend on integrations, data models, or platform infrastructure.
- A strong understanding of accounting workflows and the financial systems businesses use to run them, or the ability to quickly develop fluency in them.
- The ability to work closely with engineers on complex system and data problems.
- Strong customer instincts and a willingness to learn detailed accounting workflows firsthand.
- High ownership. You should be comfortable setting direction and making decisions in a fast-moving environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

If you don’t meet every qualification listed, we still encourage you to apply. Skills and experiences can show up in many forms, and we value diverse perspectives and backgrounds.

Nice to have

- Experience building accounting, ERP, fintech, or financial operations products.
- Familiarity with systems such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliation, transaction coding, or financial integrations.
- Experience building AI agents or AI-powered workflow products.
- Experience building products for controllers, accountants, or enterprise finance teams.
