- Develop project scopes, schedules, and work plans, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining budgets and timelines.
- Oversee the preparation of construction plans, including site layout, grading, drainage, and utility design, ensuring accuracy and constructability.
- Coordinate and guide multidisciplinary internal design teams, including engineers, designers, and support staff, throughout all project phases.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining ongoing communication, managing expectations, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with municipal agencies and regulatory authorities to navigate zoning, permitting, and regulatory approval processes.
- Review and approve design documents, construction drawings, and technical reports to ensure compliance with municipal codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff, supporting their professional development and contributing to overall team success.

- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related tools to produce and review detailed design plans, grading plans, and utility layouts.
- Contribute to long-term business growth by strengthening client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services, and demonstrating strong project ownership.

- Experience working with municipal agencies and navigating zoning, permitting, and regulatory approvals.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for site and land development design.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and project coordination.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with the FE exam completed, or equivalent early-career professional status.

- Familiarity with zoning requirements and municipal permitting processes.
- Experience with SurvCAD is a plus.
- Experience with HEC-RAS is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage priorities, handle multiple concurrent projects, and maintain schedules and budgets.
- Interest in taking on increasing responsibility and contributing to long-term business growth and leadership.
Work Environment
This role operates primarily in an office environment, where you will focus on project management, client communication, and design oversight. You will regularly review and develop construction plans, coordinate with internal staff and municipal agencies, and use tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite for design, planning, and documentation. The position involves frequent collaboration with engineers, surveyors, developers, and municipal stakeholders in a team-oriented setting that emphasizes strong project ownership and direct client exposure. Field and site visits occur as needed to support project work, including visits to residential, commercial, and industrial development sites across Southeast Michigan.
