Job Overview

Workiy Inc. is seeking an experienced Java Full Stack Engineer for a contract opportunity with Cognizant, supporting one of its end clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and modern frontend technologies such as React or Angular.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based enterprise applications.
- Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Build responsive frontend applications using React or Angular.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and third-party services.
- Work with relational databases and optimize application performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional development, testing, and DevOps teams.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Support cloud-based application development and deployment.
- Follow Agile development practices and contribute to delivering high-quality software solutions.

Requirements

Technical Skills and Qualifications

- Strong hands-on experience with Java (Java 8/11/17 or later).
- Proficiency in Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
- Experience designing and developing microservices.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs and enterprise integrations.
- Experience with React.js or Angular.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle.
- Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

Additional Requirements

- Must be comfortable with a W2 contract arrangement.
- Must be available to work onsite 3 days per week in Bridgewater, NJ, Irving, TX, or Miami, FL.
- Relevant enterprise Java full-stack development experience.
