About Our Family

We are a family of four with two young children, both in the toddler and preschool stages, and two parents who work from home. Our days combine focused work with the activity of raising little ones, and we appreciate a home that feels orderly, comfortable, and ready for whatever comes next.

We are a fairly quiet, independent household. We work best with someone who is friendly and comfortable around children, but equally happy getting on with their work while we focus on ours. You won’t need to announce your arrival or check in about every task. A whiteboard list and straightforward texts help us stay coordinated, and we appreciate clear, direct communication about questions, supplies, or anything that needs our attention.

We’re looking for a Family Assistant who enjoys the practical work of keeping a home running: resetting rooms, keeping laundry moving, maintaining the kitchen, replenishing supplies, and handling errands. One parent takes care of meal planning and cooking, so food support is limited to a few simple preparations using our recipes. There will also be school and family pickups, occasional backup childcare, and some date-night coverage, but household support is the central focus.

Fit and longevity matter more to us than having a particular title or years of experience. We’re open to someone still building their professional household experience who brings good judgment, initiative, and a willingness to learn. We value someone who can notice a problem, think through a solution, and follow tasks through to completion.

Above all, we hope to build a lasting working relationship with someone who feels comfortable with our household’s rhythm. Consistent support, including at least one weekend day, makes a meaningful difference for us, and we appreciate and recognize the care someone puts into their work.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are self-sufficient, calm, organized, and observant. You enjoy hands-on household work and can arrive, review the priorities, and get started independently. You’re comfortable in a quiet home where parents are working, and you balance a friendly presence with respect for their focus.

Previous household experience is welcome, but your judgment, dependability, willingness to learn, and interest in a long-term role matter most.

Key attributes:

- Proactive and thorough: You notice when laundry needs moving, supplies are running low, or a room needs resetting. You take initiative and finish tasks fully, including putting things away.
- Independent and resourceful: You can prioritize your day, solve routine problems, and learn the family’s preferences without needing frequent direction. You also recognize when a question or decision needs their input.
- Clear and direct: You’re comfortable using a whiteboard task list and texts to stay coordinated. You ask straightforward questions, flag concerns early, and communicate what you need.
- Calm and considerate: You work comfortably around parents who need uninterrupted work time. You’re friendly and approachable while being happy to focus on your responsibilities without frequent conversation.
- Comfortable with the full role: You enjoy laundry, cleaning, organization, inventory, and errands as your primary responsibilities, while also being kind and engaged with the children when providing transportation or occasional childcare.
- Reliable and punctual: You have a manageable, dependable commute to Stone Oak and can consistently cover the agreed schedule, including at least one weekend day.
- Confident with child transportation: You’re comfortable driving the family vehicle, safely securing children in their car seats, and handling school and family pickups.
- Ready for an active day: You’re comfortable navigating stairs repeatedly, carrying groceries and laundry between floors, and helping children into car seats.
- Trustworthy and invested: You respect the family’s privacy and belongings, follow through on commitments, and want to build a lasting working relationship.
