We are seeking a talented SolidWorks Drafter / 3D CAD Designer to support exciting, custom fabrication projects ranging from immersive brand experiences and retail displays to architectural installations, exhibits, and scenic environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented CAD professional who enjoys working on one-of-a-kind projects rather than repetitive production designs. You'll collaborate with experienced fabrication and production teams to transform creative concepts into accurate, buildable 3D models and shop drawings. What You'll Do

- Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Autodesk Inventor .
- Create accurate, fabrication-ready shop drawings, technical drawings, and production documentation.
- Translate creative design concepts into practical, buildable components for custom installations and displays.
- Prepare comprehensive fabrication packages, including assembly drawings, dimensions, material details, and construction specifications.
- Collaborate with fabrication, engineering, and production teams to ensure designs are accurate and feasible to manufacture.
- Support a variety of custom projects, including experiential installations, retail environments, trade show exhibits, scenic builds, and architectural features.
- Revise and update drawings as project requirements evolve throughout the design and production process.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting production deadlines.
- Independently troubleshoot design challenges and communicate solutions clearly to project stakeholders.
- Ensure all drawings and documentation provide clear instructions for fabrication and assembly.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

- 1+ years of professional drafting or CAD design experience, ideally within a custom fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in at least one parametric 3D modeling program: SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Autodesk Inventor .
- Demonstrated experience producing detailed shop drawings and fabrication-ready documentation .
- Understanding of fabrication methods, materials, assembly processes, and manufacturing requirements.
- Ability to interpret design concepts and convert them into accurate, production-ready technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with remote project teams.
- Availability to work during Eastern Time business hours.
- Ability to provide samples of completed shop drawings or fabrication documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in custom fabrication, architectural metalwork, millwork, exhibit fabrication, scenic construction, or experiential design.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $43.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
