About this role
Intuit is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers delivering on Mid Market's technology roadmap. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day execution, performance, and growth of your team, translating the technical strategy and architecture set by senior technical leaders into concrete plans, priorities, and delivery outcomes. You will partner with architects and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure your team executes against business goals and customer needs, while coaching, developing, and building a high-performing engineering organisation. You will also play a role of Technical lead for specific business & tech deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, customer-driven software that solves current needs while architecting for future scale, partnering closely with product and architecture on priorities.
- Bring strong hands-on engineering credibility and proven people leadership — able to guide, motivate, and earn the respect of a highly talented team.
- Own performance management, career development, and staffing/priorities for your organization, building a high-performing, inclusive, results-oriented team.
- Drive adoption of engineering best practices, modern tooling (including AI-assisted development), and process improvements across the software delivery lifecycle.
- Own the functional and non-functional requirements roadmap for your org, balancing speed, quality, and reliability.
- Build deep product and customer expertise; act as the customer's advocate in technical and prioritization decisions.
- Champion test automation, CI/CD, and observability practices to improve quality, reliability, and mean-time-to-detect/resolve.
- Use data and engineering metrics (e.g., DORA, delivery predictability, quality/incident trends) to drive continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation, quickly adopting ideas that improve customer outcomes
- Coach and role-model excellence in engineering, product, and operational practices across the organization.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of industry experience, including 2+ years leading and growing high-performing engineering teams.
- Hands-on engineering leader able to attract, motivate, and retain top talent working on high-visibility, customer-facing products.
- Strong believer in agile/lean practices, with a passion for velocity, engineering excellence, and operational rigor.
- Comfortable across the full stack — front-end to data layer — with working knowledge of modern cloud-native stacks (e.g., Java/Spring, React, AWS, Kubernetes/containers) or equivalent technologies.
- Solid software fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, OO design, system design) with hands-on experience delivering SaaS/cloud-native applications using DevOps practices.
- Excellent communicator, skilled at aligning multiple stakeholders around shared outcomes in high-stakes, cross-functional settings.
- Strong business acumen — understands the internal and external landscape and acts strategically on behalf of customers and the business.
- Drives adoption of engineering best practices, reusable components, and continuous process improvement within their organization.
- Results-oriented leader skilled at translating product roadmap and customer requirements into team goals, empowering people, and building effective, innovative engineering teams.
