Working within ICT Technical Services, you will provide third-line expertise across networking and security, resolve complex issues and contribute to improvements that make a genuine difference to a critical emergency service. You will act as a senior escalation point, work with cyber security colleagues, suppliers and service partners, and help develop the capability of other ICT technicians.
What you’ll be doing:
- Provide senior technical oversight for the operation, monitoring and maintenance of LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, VPN, DNS, DHCP and associated network services
- Investigate complex network faults, connectivity issues and infrastructure incidents, acting as a senior escalation point and supporting effective recovery
- Coordinate routine maintenance, firmware upgrades, patching, hardware refresh and network changes through approved change processes
- Support secure configuration, network performance, capacity, availability and resilience, working closely with cyber security colleagues and suppliers
- Maintain accurate configuration records, infrastructure diagrams, operational procedures, runbooks and recovery documentation
- Contribute technical expertise to projects, service improvements and the continuing development of network and security services, while mentoring ICT colleagues
- Participate in technical support arrangements for a 24-hour operational environment, including occasional work outside core hours where required
About you:
You will have experience in an ICT technical support environment and be confident troubleshooting complex network issues. You will take a structured, methodical approach to problem-solving and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
You will bring sound knowledge of networking and security technologies, value secure configuration, controlled change and accurate documentation, and explain technical matters clearly to different audiences.
