Pay Rate: $22.00 to $28.00/hour (depending on experience)
(1st Shift) Monday – Friday,7:30am to 4:00pm (work hours can be flexible)
Location: Dayton, OH 45404
Experience: 2+ years of experience in a quality role.   Experience with ISO 9001 standards and working within a sheet metal fabrication environment is preferred.

Quality Technician - Job Summary:

PrideStaff is seeking a highly experienced, detail-oriented Quality Technician on behalf of a premier national manufacturer specializing in high-quality custom sheet metal fabrication.

This is a critical role for an individual with deep expertise in sheet metal fabrication and a strong command of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems . In addition to standard shop-floor inspection, you will act as a key champion in establishing, writing, and executing standard operating procedures to help the company successfully achieve and maintain its ISO 9001 certification.

Key Responsibilities:

ISO 9001 Leadership: Actively participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS); ensure all fabrication processes align with certification standards.

SOP & Principle Development: Write, review, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and quality control principles to ensure full compliance with ISO guidelines.

Advanced Shop-Floor Inspection: Conduct incoming, in-process, and final dimensional/visual audits on heavy and light-gauge sheet metal (spiral, rectangular, oval, and long-seam welded ductwork) to verify conformance to engineering drawings.

Audit Preparation: Help lead internal quality audits, document findings, and prepare the facility and production teams for external ISO certification audits.

Corrective Actions (CAPA): Manage the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process; identify root causes of sheet metal defects, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and implement long-term structural fixes.

Tool & Equipment Calibration: Oversee the calibration log and maintain precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) in accordance with ISO tracking requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of dedicated quality control experience strictly within a sheet metal fabrication, welding, or precision metal manufacturing environment. Deep knowledge of sheet metal tolerances, bend allowances, and welding integrity is required.

ISO 9001 Expertise: Strong, demonstrable understanding of ISO 9001 standards. Proven experience writing technical operating principles and maintaining compliance records for certification.

Technical Skills: Advanced capability in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, engineering schemas, and architectural take-offs.

Measurement Proficiency: High competency using manual precision measurement tools (calipers, height gauges, micrometers, tape measures).

Communication: Exceptional written skills for drafting official quality procedures, and strong verbal skills to train floor operators on ISO compliance.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) or ISO Internal Auditor certification is highly preferred.
