If you're an HR leader who thrives on real, measurable impact, loves navigating organizational change, and actively coaches, challenges, and guides management to drive high value, we want you on our team! We are a lean, fast-moving HR department guiding our divisions through evolution and high growth. Reporting to the HR Director, you will lead and develop our HR Manager, while serving as a strategic partner to our business units. You'll set priorities for HR program design and execution, coach your direct report to grow their impact, and stay hands-on with the partnering, talent, and employee relations work that drives business outcomes from day one. This is a "wear-multiple-hats" environment where strategic leadership and hands-on execution are equally valued.
Your Impact:
Strategic HR Business Partnering:
- Act as a true sounding board for leadership, building deep understanding of our business, operations, and talent hurdles.
- Provide day-to-day coaching and support, and constructively challenge existing mindsets to drive modern, scalable business practices.
- Lead the design of company-wide HR programs in partnership with the HR Manager, and own adoption and execution.
- Partner with leaders to prepare for, implement, assess, and drive change for future growth and evolution.
Team Leadership:
- Lead, coach, and develop our HR Manager by setting clear goals, delegating ownership of programs and workstreams, and providing ongoing feedback and performance assessments.
- Partner with the HR Director on department priorities, resourcing, and building HR capability as the company scales.
Performance Management & Skill-Based Development :
- Identify skill gaps at the management and employee level, and deliver practical training on topics such as leadership, management, delivering feedback, managing conflict, etc.
- Implement and facilitate performance management frameworks, moving leaders from informal feedback toward structured, objective, and documented talent calibrations.
- Guide managers through the annual merit and bonus process, ensuring compensation recommendations are objective, data-backed, and aligned with company-wide budget frameworks.
Talent Strategy & Workforce Planning:
- Partner with leaders to support organizational design transitions, defining clear roles, responsibilities, and decision-making rights.
- Help leaders identify critical role dependencies, map talent pipelines, and structure future hiring plans.
Talent Acquisition:
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment, including intake meetings, sourcing, interviewing, and extending offers while ensuring high-quality candidate experience.
- Assist HR Manager in defining compelling job requirements and localized sourcing strategies that attract high-quality talent aligned with our evolving culture.
- Build localized pipelines for critical and hard-to-fill roles and ensure hiring alignment across stakeholders.
Employee Relations:
- Support managers in resolving complex employee relations issues, with a focus on coaching and constructive problem solving.
- Conduct thorough and objective investigations, ensuring compliance throughout.
- Coach Managers on sustainable documentation and resolution.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s preferred), and SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including a proven track record as an HR Business Partner or HR manager in a growing, fast-paced, or mid-sized environment.
- 2+ years of directly managing HR professionals, with experience building, scaling, or improving an HR function.
- Proven ability to coach and influence leaders, building trust quickly and constructively challenging existing mindsets with high emotional intelligence and diplomacy.
- Practical knowledge of federal, state, and local employment law, with experience conducting thorough, discreet, and legally compliant employee relations investigations.
- Modern talent acquisition expertise, including proactive sourcing, structured interviewing, and candidate experience management.
- Experience with performance calibration, merit cycles, and using talent metrics to build a business case for HR initiatives.
- Working knowledge of change management and organizational design, with the ability to translate frameworks into practical, everyday value for managers.
