Senior Underwriter Casualty - Dutch speaking

We are looking for a Senior Underwriter Casualty to join our Antwerp team who helps driving profitable growth across the Belgian market.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Underwriter Casualty you will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal business within your authority, building strong broker and client relationships, and contributing to the development of Chubb’s Casualty portfolio in Belgium. You will work closely with colleagues across underwriting, claims, risk engineering, and operations to deliver a high-quality service and sound underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Underwrite Casualty risks in line with Chubb’s underwriting appetite, guidelines, and authority limits
- Assess, price, and negotiate new business, renewals, and mid-term adjustments
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders
- Identify growth opportunities and support the expansion of the Casualty portfolio
- Ensure underwriting decisions are commercially sound, technically robust, and compliant with internal standards
- Collaborate with claims, risk engineering, and other functions to support portfolio performance
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging risks in the Belgian Casualty market
- Contribute to team objectives, process improvement, and knowledge sharing

What You Bring

- Significant experience in Casualty underwriting, ideally within the Belgian or broader Benelux market
- Strong technical underwriting skills and sound commercial judgment
- Proven ability to build trusted relationships with brokers and clients
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to share expertise and coach colleagues to build team knowledge and performance
- Fluency in English and Dutch; additional languages such as French are an advantage
