Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring manufacturing process compliance, executing quality gates, conducting first-piece approvals, supporting containment activities, and reinforcing a culture of quality throughout operations. This role serves as the operational backbone of the quality management system.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform First Piece Approvals and process verifications.
- Execute quality gate inspections throughout manufacturing.
- Perform process audits and layered process audits.
- Support containment activities for nonconforming products.
- Verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance to manufacturing procedures and standards.
- Support SMS implementation and compliance activities.
- Coach operators and supervisors on quality requirements.
- Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- 3+ years manufacturing or aerospace quality experience.
- Knowledge of AS9100 standards is preferred.
- Experience with auditing, inspections, and quality systems.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

As of 10/15 I have no one in play and 4 open positions. This is due to growth in the quality department, not turnover. Great company, Air Tractor, they make airplanes for agriculture, fire fighting, and aero/defense.
The only challenge with the position is location. Rural area about an hour south of Wichita Falls, TX. I know the V.P. of Quality over 20 years. He reacts quick and is working exclusively with me. He will hire ASAP. He just joined this company and was hired by the President who he previously worked with to implement a world class quality system.
