About this role

Job Description:

Are you ready to lead the programs that power a global technology transformation?

We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our CIO Strategy & Operations team. CIO Strategy & Operations brings together CIO Strategy, PMO and Business Operations to align priorities, govern execution, and provide the platforms and insights that enable the CIO organisation to deliver outcomes at scale. In this role, you will personally own the delivery of high-impact programs that span multiple business domains and technologies, combining deep subject matter expertise with hands on execution. Operating at the intersection of technology strategy and operational delivery, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across the organization, driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from conception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

In this opportunity as a Senior Project Manager, you will:

- Lead strategic programs and projects of significant complexity, risk, and visibility from initiation through execution, exercising a high degree of autonomy to ensure alignment with enterprise-wide goals and measurable outcomes.

- Translate business strategy into actionable project plans, owning scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and benefits realization across multiple concurrent projects or a program.

- Apply and help evolve governance structures, operating rhythms, PMO standards, tooling, and methodologies, including AI-enabled approaches, to ensure consistency, rigour, and continuous improvement across the portfolio.

- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact delivery, providing specialist advice to middle and senior management to resolve complex, high-visibility issues.

- Drive cross-functional collaboration across a wide range of business functions, negotiating and engaging senior stakeholders to secure alignment on complex, sometimes competing priorities.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior and executive stakeholders on your projects, translating complex project detail into clear, executive-ready updates, and applying AI tools to strengthen reporting, analysis, and stakeholder communications.

- Act as a recognized subject matter expert, mentoring and guiding other project managers, and staying current with industry trends and evolving PM/PMO practices.

Required Qualifications:

You’re a fit for the role of Senior Project Manager if you have the following required qualifications:

- 10+ years of progressive project/program management experience, with demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional programs (10+ FTEs, 6+ months, moderate to high risk) in a matrixed, complex organization.

- Direct experience owning budget, scope, and resourcing decisions across multiple concurrent projects or a program.

- Proven experience negotiating and engaging directly with senior and executive stakeholders.

- Deep understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and the judgment to adapt them to complex, ambiguous situations.

- A bachelor's degree in business, technology, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program/project management certification.

- Experience with software development life cycles and technology-enabled process design.

- Technical fluency across modern enterprise systems and architectures (e.g., cloud, APIs, data integration), with the ability to engage credibly with engineering and architecture teams on technical trade-offs.

- Strong strategic acumen, with the ability to translate ambiguous, complex problems into clear, executive-ready recommendations.

- Experience operating within a global, matrixed technology organization.
