About this role

Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all .

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

Principal Engineer – DEMQRA DQA Central Param

As a Principal Semiconductor Characterization / Param Engineer in the DEMQRA Central Param team, you will serve as the technical authority for parametric characterization across the sub-function, guided by broad sub-function objectives. You will set the technical direction for the Global High-Volume-Manufacturing (HVM) Fab Network – defining the param business processes, the electrical device characterization strategy, and the methodology roadmap. You will own Param Technology Transfer for New-Product-Introduction (NPI) end-to-end, partnering with TD Device Characterization, HVM Quality Engineering, Process Integration, Process Development, Central Planning and Global Quality. In this role your decisions will have significant impact on the success of critical technical initiatives at Micron, with site, local and – where required – global reach, and you will advise senior management on the most significant param technical issues.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Act as the technical authority for electrical characterization and testing of NAND & DRAM Array, CMOS Devices and Interconnects across the Global HVM Fab Network.
- Define and lead complex, multi-disciplinary param projects of critical importance to Micron – spanning TD, HVM, Quality and supplier/tool partners.
- Set the strategy for param business processes, data flows, tool-of-record selection and methodology governance across the Fab Network.
- Own Param Technology Transfer for NPI: drive readiness of test methodologies, Param Software, Test Algorithms and Tool-Of-Record alignment from TD into HVM for new nodes and products.
- Contribute expert subject-matter knowledge to resolve the most highly complex param issues (yield excursions, cross-fab correlation gaps, measurement capability gaps, new device structures).
- Define and lead the deployment of AI solutions that transform semiconductor characterization, parametric testing, and engineering analytics across the Global Fab Network.
- Establish Artificial Intelligence governance, data quality standards, and best-known methods for advanced analytics, ensuring scalable and trusted decision-making across TD, HVM, and Quality organizations.
- Lead significant projects that advance innovative param technical solutions and influence strategic decisions for the Central Param organization.
- Define new standards, specs and best known methods that are adopted across the sub-function and partner organizations.
- Provide advice and counsel to senior management on significant technical issues; represent Central Param to TD, HVM Quality and executive stakeholders.
- Mentor and technically develop Staff and Senior engineers across sites.

Strong candidates have these qualifications:

- Expert knowledge of parametric characterization as a sub-function, or extensive knowledge of multiple adjacent sub-functions (e.g. parametric, reliability, process integration, device engineering).
- Deep expert background in semiconductor device physics, electrical characterization, processing, and instrumentation – sufficient to define methodology direction for the organization.
- Expert understanding of device operation in memory systems including NAND, DRAM, storage class, and other memories, with awareness of roadmap-level technology directions.
- Extensive hands-on and architectural experience with semiconductor instrumentation including, but not limited to: Parameter analyzers, SPA, SMU, LCR meters, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Pulse & Waveform Generators, Wafer Probers, ATE and bench systems.
- Proven track record of defining electrical characterization methods, owning the associated algorithms, and having those methods adopted as standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary programs of critical importance, with measurable impact on Micron’s technical initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills – able to communicate highly complex technical information to internal and external contacts, including senior management.
- Builds strong internal customer (Fab, Quality, TD) relationships and uses them to anticipate expectations and shape the param roadmap.
- Expert in Python, C/C++, Unix/Linux.

Minimum Education / Experience:

- Bachelors with 12+ years, Masters with 10+ years, or PhD with 7+ years of experience in Semiconductor Device Characterization / Engineering, including a demonstrated history of technical leadership and strategic impact.
- Preferred specialization: Electrical Engineering / Microelectronics / Material Science Engineering.
