About this role
About US Scimplify is a science-first manufacturing company for Advanced Materials: from specialty chemicals to the emerging building blocks of next-generation energy applications, life sciences, and crop sciences. We scale process development and manufacturing as one continuous system, supported by world-class R&D infrastructure and executed across a global network of 500+ manufacturing partners and thousands of scientists and technical partners. The result: new materials go from molecule to commercial scale in months, not years. Scimplify operates offices and teams across 5 countries with 1,000+ innovator customers in 40+ countries. We are backed by investors such as Accel, Bertelsmann, Omnivore, Hitachi Ventures and 3one4 Capital, having raised over $80M.
About the role Build international business for Scimplify’s care ingredients portfolio, beginning with MEA and LATAM. You will personally develop direct customers and distributor business while bringing a broad view of customer needs, competing offerings and gaps in the market. The role offers close partnership with the business leader as the portfolio develops.
What you will own
- Translate regional priorities into country and account plans, with an initial focus on MEA and LATAM and phased development of Europe and the USA.
- Personally build customer relationships, manage qualification projects and convert approved trials into commercial orders and repeat business.
- Activate the initial distributor network through joint development plans, technical engagement and disciplined opportunity follow-up; identify coverage gaps for discussion.
- Understand unmet application needs, supply gaps and weaknesses in current customer options, and propose promising ingredient opportunities to the business leader.
- Act as a thoughtful sounding board in product-opportunity discussions, grounding ideas in customer feedback and market evidence.
- Work with the application lead and established sourcing, regulatory, quotation and logistics teams to progress customer projects and resolve barriers to adoption.
- Own territory forecasts and opportunity visibility, negotiate within agreed authority and coordinate delivery and payment follow-up with support teams.
What you bring
- Demonstrated success developing international B2B ingredient or specialty chemical business through direct customers and distribution partners.
- Typically 10–14 years of relevant commercial experience, including personal ownership of international accounts or territories.
- MEA or LATAM experience is especially relevant; exposure to both is preferred. Existing care or aroma customer and distributor relationships are an advantage.
- Commercial curiosity and practical judgment: you can identify why customers need a different product and discuss the opportunity clearly without overstating the evidence.
- Strong negotiation, cross-cultural communication and forecasting skills; independent execution and willingness to travel internationally for customers, distributors and industry events.
Success measures Establish priority account and distributor plans, qualify launch opportunities and begin a regular discussion of customer-led product gaps with the business leader. Success will be measured through customer conversion, repeat orders, distributor contribution, territory sales and the usefulness of market insights.
