About this role

About US Scimplify is a science-first manufacturing company for Advanced Materials: from specialty chemicals to the emerging building blocks of next-generation energy applications, life sciences, and crop sciences. We scale process development and manufacturing as one continuous system, supported by world-class R&D infrastructure and executed across a global network of 500+ manufacturing partners and thousands of scientists and technical partners. The result: new materials go from molecule to commercial scale in months, not years. Scimplify operates offices and teams across 5 countries with 1,000+ innovator customers in 40+ countries. We are backed by investors such as Accel, Bertelsmann, Omnivore, Hitachi Ventures and 3one4 Capital, having raised over $80M.
About the role Build the commercial presence of Scimplify’s growing care ingredients business across Asia. You will work with a launch portfolio that includes Rehology modifiers, suncare ingredients, Actives and Fragrance, supported by an initial distributor network and established commercial operations. Your role is to turn customer opportunities into product adoption and repeat orders.
What you will own
- Develop a focused territory plan, beginning with India and expanding into Southeast Asia in line with agreed priorities.
- Build relationships with brands, formulators, manufacturers and their procurement teams; personally manage the journey from discovery and sampling through trials and commercial orders.
- Activate launch distributors through joint account plans, product training, customer visits and regular reviews of opportunities and repeat business.
- Identify gaps in account or channel coverage and recommend actions to strengthen market access.
- Work with the application lead to resolve formulation barriers and present evidence relevant to each customer’s product requirements.
- Coordinate quotations, documentation, delivery and payment follow-up with the existing support functions; negotiate within agreed commercial authority.
- Maintain clear opportunity records, realistic sales forecasts and demand visibility, and share customer feedback on performance and competing products.
What you bring
- A record of winning and growing B2B ingredient or specialty chemical business, with experience working directly with customers and through distributors.
- Typically 7–10 years of relevant experience; practical evidence of delivery carries more weight than an exact experience band.
- The ability to connect ingredient benefits with customer needs, manage qualification cycles and follow opportunities through to recurring sales.
- Existing relationships in Beauty & Personal Care, Home Care or Aroma are preferred. Experience in India is important; Southeast Asia exposure is an advantage.
- A science, engineering or business qualification, or equivalent experience; clear communication, disciplined account management and willingness to travel within India and Asia.
Success measures Establish a prioritised account plan, agree joint actions with distributors and advance a qualified pipeline of samples, trials and commercial opportunities. Success will be assessed through new active customers, conversion to repeat orders, distributor-generated business, sales delivery and forecast quality. Numerical quarterly milestones will be agreed with the business leader.
