About this role

Google is committed to retaining a small-company feel while solving some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, acting as owners and advocates for the essential building blocks - developer platforms, infrastructure, and product components that drive the pace of innovation for every Google developer.

Core Experience focuses on foundational user experiences across Google. The team aspires to make users’ experience excellent, safe, and useful, regardless of which Google product they are using. Among the products the team owns are the Google account and identity solutions, user education and notifications, contacts, our design elements, accessibility and solutions, and more. These are the building blocks that make Google’s overall experience valuable and consistent for our users.

Our team's mission is to unlock the best of Google for every user by creating a seamless, personal, and trustworthy connected experience. We ensure that every interaction a user has—across all Google products, accounts, and platforms—feels relevant, helpful, safe, and brings value to our users. To achieve this vision, our work is structured around three foundational pillars:

- Access everywhere to enable safe & frictionless sign-in and agentic experiences across 1Ps & 3Ps.
- Trustworthy personalization to help users feel in control of their personalization experience across products & accounts.
- Ecosystem growth to build a connected & cohesive ecosystem across products & platforms.
As VP Engineering, GIE, you are not just modernizing products and infrastructure, you are building the connective tissue for the agentic era. Together, we are creating the intelligent, connected future of Google.
The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.
