About this role
Job Requirements
Join us in pioneering breakthroughs in healthcare. For everyone. Everywhere. Sustainably.
Our inspiring and caring environment forms a global community that celebrates diversity and individuality. We encourage you to step beyond your comfort zone, offering resources and flexibility to foster your professional and personal growth, all while valuing your unique contributions.
This is a hybrid position with possible locations in Bratislava, Žilina or Košice.
Apply now for the position of Site Reliability Engineer and build and operate the automation and harmonization layer for our connectivity and digital customer services in order to remove manual effort from operational processes that today run across disconnected tools, and to make operational status visible where it is currently invisible.
You design, implement and operate these solutions from end to end. You are not assigned finished specifications to code against. You work with process owners and service owners to understand where effort is lost, propose the technically appropriate solution, build it, and stay responsible for it in operation.
The role is deliberately broad, with automation as its core and reliable operations as its outcome. It spans integration and orchestration between IT service management and engineering tools, event-driven automation and self-healing, telemetry and fleet monitoring for field devices, and the practical application of generative AI and AI agents. Site Reliability Engineering practices are applied where they improve service availability, observability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
Your role:
Design and engineering
- Analyze operational processes together with service and process owners, identify automation potential, and quantify the expected benefit before building.
- Design automation solutions that fit the target process, selecting deliberately between scripting, workflow orchestration, low-code platforms, and AI-based approaches.
- Build integrations between operational systems, including ITSM, engineering, monitoring, ERP and onboarding platforms, using APIs and event-driven patterns.
- Develop event-driven automation and self-healing routines that act on monitoring signals instead of generating another ticket for a human.
- Implement telemetry collection and fleet monitoring solutions for distributed edge and gateway devices and turn the resulting data into role-relevant operational views.
Artificial intelligence
- Apply generative AI and AI agents where they measurably improve operational outcomes, for example in diagnosis support, knowledge management, and incident classification.
- Build and evaluate AI-supported components, including retrieval over operational knowledge sources, and define the guardrails, human approval points and quality measurements that make them safe to operate.
- Use AI-assisted development tooling critically, validating generated code rather than accepting it, and applying the same review and testing standards as to manually written code.
Operation and sustainability
- Operate what you build. Take responsibility for availability, error handling, logging, alerting, recovery, and continuous improvement of automation solutions.
- Apply Site Reliability Engineering practices to operational services, including service-level indicators and objectives, error budgets, reliability reviews and reduction of operational toil.
- Build observability into solutions through meaningful metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and actionable alerts that support rapid detection and diagnosis.
- Design for resilience by applying failure handling, retries, timeouts, rollback, graceful degradation and tested recovery procedures.
- Support incident response and blameless post-incident reviews, translating recurring failure patterns into automation, preventive controls, and backlog improvements.
- Apply engineering discipline consistently: version control, peer review, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and structured technical documentation.
- Establish and maintain reusable components and automation standards so that solutions scale across services instead of being rebuilt each time.
- Ensure that all solutions comply with cybersecurity, data protection and audit requirements, including traceability of automated actions.
Collaboration
- Work within the global setup of service owners, delivery center colleagues and external suppliers across time zones, in a model where governance sits at HQ and execution sits in the delivery center.
- Make your work transparent: document decisions, demonstrate results, and transfer knowledge so that operation is not dependent on a single person.
- Contribute to the automation backlog by bringing forward candidates you identify in daily operation.
Work Experience
Essential
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or equivalent practical experience, with strong hands-on experience in automation, integration, platform engineering, or production operations; SRE experience is a plus.
- Practical experience in at least one scripting language - Python, PowerShell, Bash or Perl.
- Hands-on automation engineering skills across scripting, workflow orchestration, API integration and event-driven automation, with a focus on reducing manual operational effort.
- Operational engineering experience with monitoring, observability, incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and reliable recovery of production services.
- A working understanding of Site Reliability Engineering concepts such as SLI/SLOs, error budgets, toil reduction, resilience and continuous reliability improvement.
- A working understanding of generative AI and AI agents, with the ability to use tools such as GitHub Copilot critically and effectively.
- Experience with neural networks and with training AI systems and agents.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks such as n8n, Camunda, Microsoft Power Platform or SnapLogic.
- Familiarity with cloud and on-premises environments, APIs, containers and infrastructure automation.
- Experience with scripting and configuration automation such as Python and Ansible, Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD, automated testing such as Robot Framework, monitoring and technical documentation.
- The ability to design, implement and operate technical solutions independently, and to develop them sustainably rather than leaving one-off scripts behind.
Advantageous
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
- Experience with ITSM processes and tools, particularly incident, problem and change management.
- Experience with observability platforms, metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards and alert-to-incident rule design.
- Practical exposure to defining SLI/SLOs, reliability reporting, capacity and performance management, or on-call and incident-response models.
- Experience designing self-healing, auto-remediation or safe rollback mechanisms for production operations.
- Exposure to regulated environments and to cybersecurity or data protection requirements.
- Experience integrating enterprise systems such as SAP or equivalent business platforms.
Personal qualities
- You take ownership. You see a task through from the first analysis to stable operation.
- You are pragmatic about technology choices and select the simplest solution that solves the problem reliably.
- You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in English, across locations.
- You are transparent about progress, risks and limitations, and you ask early rather than late.
In line with applicable pay transparency requirements, the minimum gross monthly base salary for this position is 2400€.
In addition, this role includes a variable compensation component, depending on individual and/or company performance.
The final offer will be determined based on qualifications, skills, and experience and may exceed the stated minimum.

- Hybrid type of work - combination of telework and work from office
- Flexible Working Hours
- Bridge days - free extra paid leave 6 days per year
