About this role

Job Description

EHS Supervisor

If you’re looking for a role where you can drive higher standards, shape culture, and make a lasting impact on a transformation site, this is that opportunity.

At Kraft Heinz in Fremont, Ohio , the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Supervisor is a critical leader at a transformation site with complexity, meaningful operational challenge, and significant opportunity to strengthen how safety, environmental compliance, ownership, and daily execution come to life on the floor. This is a role for someone who wants to build, influence, and lead — not from the sidelines, but in the work, alongside plant leadership, operations, maintenance, quality, and frontline teams.

The right leader will see opportunity in the challenge of helping move the site toward a more prevention-focused, safety excellence culture. In return, this role offers the chance to take on visible leadership, solve meaningful plant-level problems, and grow through the kind of experience that builds real operational credibility.

For the right candidate, this is a chance to step into meaningful leadership at a site with the potential to grow your career and impact— building capability, strengthening culture, influencing site leadership, and helping create a safer, more reliable, and more disciplined operation over time. If you are motivated by challenge, purpose, and the opportunity to lead visible transformation, this role offers the platform to make a lasting impact.

What You’ll Lead

Drive Environmental Health and Safety execution at a transformation site

- Lead day-to-day safety and environmental execution across the site to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Kraft Heinz standards
- Partner with plant leadership to identify risk, reinforce expectations, and drive follow-through on the site’s most critical priorities
- Build stronger ownership and accountability through visible standards, practical routines, and disciplined execution
- Provide hands-on leadership in a plant environment that demands both immediate issue response and long-term culture change

Raise the standard on compliance and risk reduction

- Lead routine audits, inspections, and floor-based observations to identify risk and verify compliance
- Drive corrective actions to closure with urgency, discipline, and follow-through
- Maintain readiness for internal and external reviews through strong documentation, routine management, and operating rigor
- Strengthen site execution in ways that protect people, improve compliance, and support stronger overall plant performance

Lead chemical, process, and environmental safety with credibility

- Oversee the safe handling, storage, labeling, and use of chemicals tied to production and sanitation processes
- Support control of process hazards related to condiment manufacturing, thermal systems, sanitation cycles, and chemical-intensive operations
- Lead environmental compliance routines tied to wastewater, waste handling, spill prevention, and required reporting
- Help strengthen site control of environmental risks tied to chemical use, acidic waste streams, and older facility conditions

Own incident response, learning, and prevention

- Lead investigations for injuries, near misses, environmental events, and significant safety concerns
- Identify root causes, assign actions, and ensure countermeasures are implemented and sustained
- Use data, trend analysis, and floor observations to identify recurring issues and drive stronger preventive action
- Partner with leaders to improve urgency, ownership, and learning following incidents, audit findings, and compliance gaps

Build capability and shape culture

- Deliver and coordinate training for frontline employees and leaders on key safety and environmental expectations
- Reinforce operator and leader ownership of safe work practices through coaching, visibility, and consistent follow-up
- Strengthen execution of core routines tied to hazard recognition, escalation, and standard work
- Help create a culture where safety and environmental expectations are practical, visible, and embedded in daily operations

Support site transformation and long-term improvement

- Identify risks and priorities associated with aging infrastructure and help drive practical improvements
- Partner with maintenance, engineering, and operations to ensure equipment, system, and process changes are reviewed for safety and environmental impact
- Integrate safety and environmental thinking into operational changes, reliability improvements, and plant improvement efforts
- Help establish stronger routines, clearer accountability, and more reliable execution across the facility

What Will Set You Apart

- You are energized by the chance to lead in a site environment where the work is visible, important, and full of opportunity to make a difference
- You bring strong floor presence, practical judgment, and the ability to translate standards into actions that teams can execute every day
- You know how to influence across leadership levels and plant functions while maintaining credibility with frontline teams
- You can balance immediate issue response with longer-term systems thinking and culture building
- You want a role that stretches you — one where your impact can be seen in stronger routines, reduced risk, improved capability, and a safer, more disciplined operation

Qualifications
