We are looking for a talented Buyer to join our team specializing in Purchasing for our CDBS (Cummins Drivetrain and Braking Systems) Facility in Troy, MI.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Drive Strategic Sourcing Decisions - Analyze sourcing data, supplier information, and market trends to support informed procurement decisions that optimize cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Deliver Cost Savings Opportunities - Identify process improvements, sourcing efficiencies, and cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining high-quality products and services.
- Execute Procurement Strategies - Support sourcing activities and execute buying strategies that align with business objectives, category plans, and procurement requirements.
- Manage Purchase Orders & Supplier Relationships - Procure inventory, supplies, services, and capital goods while partnering with suppliers to ensure timely order fulfillment and issue resolution.
- Provide Data-Driven Insights - Develop analyses, simulations, benchmarking reports, and recommendations that help sourcing leaders make effective business decisions.
- Support Contract & Compliance Activities - Assist with contract development, minor negotiations, and the management of legal and compliance documentation to support audit and regulatory requirements.
- Lead Systems & Process Excellence - Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sourcing systems and tools, helping drive process consistency, team effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement Projects - Support or lead special projects, Six Sigma initiatives, and value-capture activities that enhance procurement performance and deliver measurable business results.
