About this role

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

- 5 years of experience in project and construction management.

- Experience with commercial contract management and procurement.

- Experience managing construction projects within an international working environment.

Preferred qualifications:

- Experience managing vendor relationships and an understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry.

- Experience working with data center equipment and environments (including switchgear, generators, chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, controls, security monitoring, and fire safety systems), with an understanding of startup and commissioning processes.

- Ability to build strong relationships and deliver on action-oriented tasks.

- Design and deliver optimized program communication plans including executive and key partner communications. Represent the program team across a wide range of communications touchpoints including VP level comms.

- Determine phasing and metrics associated with program lifecycle that effectively address continuous improvement including Resource Stewardship (effective deployment of machine and people resources), including near- and long-term objectives. Optimize regular checkpoints and metrics dashboards to ensure stakeholders have access to data.

- Anticipate change management requirements that are required by program stakeholders. Develop change management rollout plans for programs including impact analysis.

- Drive resolution of sensitive communications. Ensure stakeholders are aligned on rationale for program pivots related to continuous improvement.

- Lead pivots requiring change management, monitor progress of change management rollout, and resolve misalignments. Define future change management needs.
