As a member of our Regional Legal team in Turkiye, you will review and revise contracts - often juggling several at a time, advise on the legal and regulatory compliance of our products & services offerings, and manage pre-contentious and contentious matters. You will develop practical and innovative ways to meet Google's needs and keep the company thriving, with the ability to affect Google's long-term goals.
We believe that advertising and commerce is the lifeblood of the internet. It funds the content we see, connects users to the products and services they want and need and provides the fuel to innovate, investigate, disrupt and entertain. Every day we come to work with a team of people who are dedicated to preserving the Internet as we know it, while also challenging the status quo to provide for the Internet of tomorrow. We are looking for a Legal Counsel to advise on the legal compliance of our products & services and support our advertising sales and marketing operations in Turkiye.

- Experience in litigation.

- Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the jurisdiction in which the position is located.

- Ability to communicate in English and Turkish fluently to support legal operations in this region.

Preferred qualifications:

- Deep understanding of online technologies and industry.

- Good business judgment, hard working, well-organized, and ability to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.

- Excellent negotiation and people skills.

- Provide legal advice to the company, including the management teams, legal teams, marketing, business development, advertising sales and other business departments in Turkiye, throughout EMEA and the US.

- Respond promptly and reliably to internal and external requests for advice, specifically with regards to regulatory inquiries, contracts, commercial regulations, litigation, IP, data protection, advertising and consumer protection.

- Manage pre-contentious and contentious matters (including private litigation and governmental investigations) and coordinate our working relationship with external law firms.

- Draft, negotiate and adapt under local law a wide variety of commercial agreements, including license and strategic partnership agreements.
