About this role
This internship opportunity is funded by the Joint Hypersonics Transition Office and open to students interested in engineering design of high-speed inlets and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. It is anticipated that the student will work with the mentor to develop and optimize a workflow of design and analysis using Python. The goal is to leverage the ongoing development efforts at NASA Glenn Research Center of an in-house design tool and integrating it with the analysis tools to speed-up the design and analysis cycle. Depending on the student’s academic level, duties could range from inlet design, Python programming, computational mesh generation, planning and execution of simulation database, CFD on NASA’s Advanced Supercomputing cluster, post-processing and visualization, data analysis, and exploration of artificial intelligence techniques for model development.
