Are you a dedicated and highly effective educator committed to raising the achievement of all students within your subject area? Join us as a Teacher, where you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality learning, utilising a range of teaching and learning strategies to ensure student success.

This position requires a professional who is aware of strategies for improving learning, understands curriculum developments, and is creative in finding solutions to enhance student performance.

Welcome from the Principal:

We are a free scheel in the centre of Middlesbrough, and we do things differently! Do you?

As Principal, I am proud to introduce you to Outwood Academy Riverside, an innovative free school within a nationally renowned Trust that nurtures talent and provides high-quality professional development.

Opened in 2020, Riverside is a special place to work with genuine care for every family member. Our community is built on core values, including kindness, compassion, respect and integrity. We maintain academic rigour and high expectations, resulting in very good behavior and attendance that is above the national average. Students face no 'glass ceiling' and benefit from exceptional personal development opportunities (including Cadets, MISST, and LAMDA).

This is a unique opportunity to join an inspirational team making history. We are currently on Russell Street (with a satellite site in Eston) and are planning a move to a new, state-of-the-art facility by 2027.
About the Department: The MFL Department at Outwood Academy Riverside offers Spanish from Y7 to GCSE, with it being quite a popular subject on KS4. We are a vibrant, welcoming, and collaborative department currently made up of a dedicated team of two. Language learning and diversity are at the heart of our school community: with 52 different languages spoken across our academy, our large EAL student population makes our school a uniquely rich cultural environment. We take great pride in celebrating our students' heritage, supporting a significant number of pupils each year to sit GCSEs in their home languages alongside our core language curriculum.
In MFL there is a dedicated team of Directors who invest in staff with support, coaching, mentoring, and a wide range of top-quality subject specific training programmes to ensure that quality teaching and learning leads to outstanding outcomes for all students.

Our MFL teams across the Trust achieve excellent results for our students every year.

The successful candidate will be confident in using standard computer packages (word processing, email, and spreadsheets) and understand how these tools can enhance student learning. The role demands high levels of professionalism, including the ability to relate to students in a pleasant and sympathetic manner, and a capacity to recognise potential child safeguarding issues.
