About this role

Why Join Ford of Mexico? Celebrating over 100 years of legacy in Mexico, we are more than just a business we are a vibrant, collaborative community of over 14,000 innovators shaping the global future of transportation. At Ford, we build what matters, grow where it counts, and drive progress with heart. Whether you are collaborating at our state-of-the-art Global Technology and Business Center (GTBC) or manufacturing iconic, award-winning vehicles in our world-class plants, you will find a culture evolving together, built on trust, passion, and shared purpose. Here, your work moves people forward, and your growth is personal. Join us, and let’s build what’s next together.

In this position... Every time a driver brakes, they trust that Ford's rotors and drums will perform safely, quietly, and consistently. This role exists to make sure they do. You will join a team that sets the standards, design guides, and simulation methods behind Ford's brake rotors and drums. Your work will help deliver best-in-class braking quality while reducing cost and weight across our vehicle programs. You will combine hands-on design and structural, thermal, and NVH analysis with brake-system sizing studies. You will also help modernize our simulation workflows with optimization and AI-enabled approaches. Your work will influence program decisions and the customer experience on the road.

You'll have...

- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 3 or more years of relevant experience in mechanical design, CAE analysis, or brake and chassis systems. We welcome candidates whose experience comes from different paths.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD and product data management tools for creating and managing 3D models and 2D casting and machining drawings (such as CATIA and Teamcenter).
- Experience with finite element pre- and post-processing software and with structural or NVH analysis (such as HyperWorks/HyperMesh).
- Experience using MATLAB to run or develop engineering simulation models.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis, presentations, and technical reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineering teams and suppliers.

Even better, you may have...

- A Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with brake rotor or drum design, reliability and robustness methods (such as DFMEA), or brake-system sizing.
- Experience with CAE optimization tools and workflows (such as modeFRONTIER), nonlinear finite element solvers (such as Abaqus), and AI or machine learning applications in engineering.
- Experience with vehicle and laboratory testing, model correlation, and competitive benchmarking.
