Flexible On-Call Nursing with a Predictable Rotation

First Choice Home Health & Hospice is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours support for our home health and hospice patients throughout Maricopa County.

The current rotation is one week on, followed by two weeks off , making this a great opportunity for an experienced RN who wants to supplement their income without adding another traditional nursing schedule .

You are paid $3 per hour while assigned to on-call availability , plus $75–$125 for each completed patient visit , depending on visit type.

What You'll Do

As an On-Call RN, you'll provide after-hours clinical support to patients and families when needs arise outside normal business hours.

Responsibilities include:

- Respond to after-hours patient and caregiver calls

- Assess patient needs by phone and determine when an in-person visit is appropriate

- Complete home health and hospice nursing visits as needed

- Assess changes in patient condition

- Provide symptom management and nursing interventions according to the plan of care

- Administer medications and treatments as ordered

- Educate and support patients, families, and caregivers

- Communicate changes in condition to the clinical team

- Coordinate with physicians and other providers when needed

- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation

- Support hospice patients and families during urgent or end-of-life situations

Qualifications

Required:

- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing

- 2+ years of direct patient-care nursing experience

- Strong nursing assessment and clinical decision-making skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Comfortable working independently in patients' homes

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

- Ability to travel throughout Salt Lake County during assigned coverage

- Dependable and responsive during your on-call rotation

Preferred:

- Home health experience

- Hospice experience

- Palliative or end-of-life care experience

- Previous on-call or after-hours nursing experience

Compensation

- $3.00 per hour while assigned to on-call availability

- $75–$125 per completed patient visit , depending on visit type
