Your Team:
This role sits within Operations, which covers Customer Experience, KYC and Client Onboarding, Payments, Transaction Reporting and AI Operations across the UK, Poland, India and Australia. The Data & Insights team turns operational data into the measurement, insight and evidence that leaders use to run and transform the department.
Your role in the Team's Success:
You will set the vision and strategy for data and insights across Operations, and lead the function that turns operational data into commercial decisions. As the senior analytical authority in the department, you will own the measurement frameworks, the single source of truth and the standards of rigour that leaders across client servicing, payments and onboarding rely on to make high-stakes decisions.
You will lead and develop a team of analysts across customer experience, AI operations and operational measurement. Beyond your own team, you will be a trusted thought partner to senior and executive stakeholders: framing the questions worth answering, defining what good looks like, and holding the line on analytical quality.
What you'll do:
- Own and evolve the data and insights strategy for Operations, sequencing the work that delivers the most commercial value and making the case for the function's resourcing, tooling and strategic priority to senior and executive audiences.
- Lead, coach and grow a team of analysts across customer experience, AI operations and operational analytics, through regular one-to-ones, stretch assignments and honest performance feedback.
- Establish and safeguard a trusted single source of truth for operational and customer experience metrics, setting the definitions, methodologies and quality standards that make the numbers dependable, and building self-serve reporting that reduces reliance on ad hoc requests.
- Design the measurement and monitoring frameworks behind major transformation initiatives, including robust experiment design, guardrails and performance thresholds, executive scorecards, and the metric choices that determine whether an initiative is judged a success.
- Act as the primary analytical partner for the department's biggest strategic shifts: translate ambiguous, high-stakes problems into structured analytical approaches, turn the results into clear business cases, challenge requests that lack a clear decision, and influence direction through evidence rather than advocacy.
- Set the standards for how the team works, including clear briefs, documented assumptions, peer review of code and outputs, and reusable, well-documented analysis.
- Champion the responsible use of AI and automation across service delivery, bringing the analytical rigour that separates genuine impact from inflated numbers.
What you'll need:
- A track record of leading a data or insights function, setting analytical strategy and developing a team, with the credibility to be the senior analytical voice in a room of senior leaders.
- Deep quantitative and statistical fluency: experiment design, significance and non-inferiority testing, appropriate metric selection, and the judgement to know when a method fits the decision at hand (and when it doesn't).
- The ability to connect metrics to business outcomes and to frame the problems that most affect the business, rather than simply answering the questions asked, with the stakeholder skills to influence at leadership level.
- Strong command of a modern data stack, including SQL and cloud data warehousing (BigQuery or similar), pipeline and version control tooling (dbt, Airflow, Git) and enterprise visualisation (Looker, Tableau or similar), with enough technical depth to set standards and challenge implementation. Python for statistical analysis or automation is a plus.
- Knowledge of financial services, fintech or another regulated consumer business, and of contact-centre and service operations and the platforms that support them, is a strong advantage.
- Analytical curiosity paired with commercial pragmatism. You are comfortable moving fast on messy, ambiguous problems while keeping the rigour that makes the answers defensible.
