About this role
The Metrology Specialist, CM4D Systems will work as the technical owner of dimensional data within the dimensional engineering group. The successful candidate will build and maintain the CM4D translators that bring measurement data in from every device on site, create and manage the routines that data lands in, and configure output from PolyWorks and other metrology software so that it imports cleanly and completely. There may be occasional work on the production floor supporting measurement systems and verifying data against the parts it came from. It is fundamental that the candidate has prior experience interpreting GD&T part drawings, hands-on experience with PolyWorks, and the ability to create and modify CM4D translators rather than only consume the reports they produce.
Create, modify and test CM4D translators for every measurement source on site, including CMMs, laser radar, structured light scanners, inline robot-mounted sensors and vision gap and flush systems Configure output from PolyWorks, PC-DMIS, Zeiss Inspect and similar packages so that feature naming, alignment, nominals and tolerances import into CM4D correctly without manual rework Create, revise and retire CM4D routines, and maintain the filters, nominals and tolerances that every downstream report, dashboard and API query depends on Reconcile CM4D tolerances against released engineering drawings, and audit incoming data for sensor drift, alignment shifts and mixed populations before they are reported as process change Build and maintain CM4D report templates, scheduled jobs and automated reporting through the CM4D API Collaborate with Engineering groups on measurement strategy and fixture design, and act as the site technical contact for CM4D
