# Senior Full Stack Developer – PHP, Shopify & AI-First Development
Experience: 6–10 Years Employment Type: Full-Time

## About the Role
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Developer with strong PHP CMS development experience, particularly in Shopify , along with expertise in modern frontend and backend technologies. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience building, customizing, integrating, and optimizing CMS-based web applications and e-commerce platforms. We are particularly interested in developers who embrace an AI-first approach to software development , leveraging AI-powered tools to accelerate development, improve code quality, automate repetitive tasks, and build intelligent application features. The candidate should be comfortable working across the entire development lifecycle, from architecture and development to deployment, performance optimization, and maintenance.
## Key Responsibilities

1. PHP & CMS Development

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP and modern development frameworks.
- Build and customize CMS-based solutions, with a strong preference for Shopify and Shopify Plus.
- Develop custom themes, plugins, modules, and application integrations based on business requirements.
- Work with CMS platforms such as Shopify, WordPress, and other relevant PHP-based platforms.
- Optimize application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.

2. Shopify & E-commerce Development

- Develop and customize Shopify storefronts, themes, and e-commerce functionalities.
- Work extensively with Shopify Liquid, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend frameworks.
- Develop custom Shopify applications and integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and external services.
- Work with Shopify APIs, webhooks, and GraphQL/REST APIs for data exchange and application integrations.
- Implement custom checkout experiences and e-commerce workflows where supported by the relevant Shopify plan and APIs.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and improve website performance, user experience, and conversion rates.

3. Full Stack Development

- Develop responsive and high-performance frontend interfaces using JavaScript and modern frontend technologies.
- Build robust backend services, APIs, and integrations using PHP and other relevant backend technologies.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL and other relevant database technologies.
- Integrate frontend applications with backend services, external APIs, and third-party platforms.
- Follow coding standards, implement appropriate testing practices, and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

4. AI-First Development Approach

- Use AI-powered coding assistants and development tools to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, and documentation.
- Leverage tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or equivalent AI development platforms.
- Integrate AI APIs and services into web applications wherever they provide meaningful business value.
- Explore AI-driven automation for repetitive development tasks, code refactoring, test generation, and troubleshooting.
- Evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability before implementation.
- Identify opportunities to incorporate AI capabilities into CMS platforms, e-commerce workflows, and customer-facing applications.
- Continuously experiment with emerging AI development practices to improve engineering productivity.

5. Deployment & Performance Optimization

- Work with Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
- Deploy and maintain applications in cloud or hosting environments.
- Optimize website speed, responsiveness, SEO fundamentals, and overall application performance.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable technical solutions.
- Ensure application security, data integrity, and adherence to development best practices.

## Required Skills & Qualifications
PHP & CMS
- 6–10 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with PHP and CMS-based application development.
- Demonstrable experience developing and customizing Shopify stores and e-commerce solutions.
- Strong understanding of Shopify Liquid, themes, storefront customization, and Shopify APIs.
- Experience with WordPress or other CMS platforms is an advantage.
Full Stack Technologies
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive web development.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React.js, Vue.js, or equivalent.
- Experience developing REST APIs and integrating third-party services.
- Good understanding of MySQL or other relational databases.
- Familiarity with Node.js or other backend technologies is preferred.
AI & Development Tools
- Practical experience using AI-powered development tools in day-to-day engineering.
- Ability to use AI tools for code generation, debugging, refactoring, and test creation.
- Understanding of AI API integrations and the ability to implement AI-enabled application features.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to validate AI-generated code independently.
Engineering Fundamentals
- Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, and design principles.
- Experience with Git, debugging, performance optimization, and application security.
- Ability to independently manage development tasks and deliver production-ready solutions.
- Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Shopify Plus and complex e-commerce implementations.
- Experience developing custom Shopify apps using PHP, Node.js, or other suitable technologies.
- Knowledge of Shopify GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and headless commerce architectures.
- Experience with Laravel or other modern PHP frameworks.
- Exposure to AWS, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment practices.
- Experience integrating LLM APIs or building AI-enabled workflows.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and secure coding practices.
