• Coordinate the regional project review and prioritization process, working with business leaders to evaluate new initiatives and develop clear, evidence-based business cases.
• Support capital planning and forecasting, helping the business establish priorities and maintain appropriate control over capital expenditure.

• Establish clear project scopes, delivery plans, budgets, schedules, governance arrangements and stakeholder responsibilities.
• Monitor, analyze and communicate project and portfolio performance, providing accurate and relevant information to regional leaders and other key stakeholders.
• Ensure that capital projects are established and managed correctly within SAP and that project reporting supports informed business decisions.
• Provide leadership, coaching and practical guidance to local project managers, engineers and other project-delivery resources across the region.
• Build project-management capability by helping project teams use appropriate planning tools, timelines, governance processes and delivery disciplines.
• Lead and develop a small team of project and administrative resources, while providing functional leadership to additional project-delivery resources through dotted-line relationships.
• Act as a key stakeholder interface for the regional project portfolio, developing productive relationships and managing expectations across different levels of the business.
• Partner with territory and area business leaders to improve project forecasting, execution discipline and accountability.
• Promote strong collaboration between business, engineering, operations and project teams to enable effective project delivery.
• Apply commercial judgment when evaluating project options and developing practical, cost-effective engineering and delivery solutions in cooperation with our Assets & Engineering team.
• Support the effective management of suppliers, contractors and other external delivery partners where required.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with Orica’s project-governance processes, safety requirements, hazard-study processes and applicable regulatory and statutory obligations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in project execution, governance, reporting and regional engineering support.
What you will bring

• Experience coordinating multiple projects or overseeing a project portfolio, including forecasting, reporting, prioritization and performance monitoring.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and maintain focus across multiple initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at operational, technical and leadership levels.
• The ability to lead through influence, including guiding project teams and local project managers who may not report directly to you.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or developing project-delivery capability in others.
• Sound commercial judgment and an understanding of project budgets, cost control, business cases and capital planning.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret project information and convert it into clear recommendations and decisions.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to present complex project information clearly to different audiences.
• A collaborative leadership style and a commitment to shared accountability, teamwork and the development of others.
• A strong commitment to safety, integrity, governance and responsible project execution.
• Curiosity, learning agility and a genuine interest in developing your understanding of Orica’s business, systems and project processes.
• Possess unquestioned reputation for integrity, ethics, personal values and solid character.
It will be advantageous if you also bring
• A degree or equivalent experience in engineering, project management or another relevant discipline.
• Experience delivering engineering, infrastructure, industrial or capital projects.
• Experience within mining, manufacturing, chemicals, resources or another operationally complex environment.
• Knowledge of capital-project governance and approval processes.
