We’re seeking talented students to join Sonos’s Internship Program and explore what it means to blend creativity, technology, and sound. Our interns are an essential part of our team, bringing fresh ideas, learning from experts, and helping us push the boundaries of what’s possible. Come broaden your skills, share your input and pursue your passion with a 11 week internship experience.

Location & Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with minimum 4 days per week onsite in our Boston office . There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.
As a Software Engineering Intern on the Partner Engineering team, you’ll work on real software that ships to Sonos customers. Our team works closely with our Music Service Partners (MSPs) to support over 120 integrations on Sonos, across both the software that runs on Sonos players and the Sonos app on Android and iOS. You’ll be paired with a mentor, take on a meaningful, well-scoped project, and learn how a professional engineering team designs, builds, tests, and ships software. If you love music, enjoy learning, and want to solve challenging problems, we’d love to talk.
Depending on your interests and experience, you’ll work in one of two areas:
- Player: embedded software in C/C++ running on Sonos speakers, covering areas like music playback, device-to-device interaction, and partner SDK integrations.
- Mobile: the Sonos app on Android (Kotlin) or iOS (Swift), building and improving how customers find, connect, and play content from our partners.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own a scoped intern project from design through implementation, with guidance from your mentor and the team.
- Implement features and bug fixes in our player firmware (C/C++) or mobile app (Kotlin/Swift).
- Learn to debug real-world issues using logs, traces, and reproduction steps.
- Participate in code reviews, team ceremonies, and our day-to-day development and quality practices.
- Collaborate with engineers, QA, and product management to deliver reliable, high-quality work.
- Help maintain and improve integrations with our music service partners.
- Present your work to the team and stakeholders at the end of your internship.
