About this role
What You'll Do:
- Lead End-to-End Development: Design, develop, and deliver backend features while collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve complex marketplace challenges.
- Build Scalable Backend Systems: Develop robust APIs and backend services that support the complete order lifecycle, from supplier matching to final delivery.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Contribute to architectural decisions and continuously improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our platform.
- Mentor and Collaborate: Guide fellow engineers, share technical knowledge, and promote strong engineering practices within the team.
- Enhance Platform Capabilities: Work with event-driven systems and build solutions that support increasing order volumes and business requirements.
- Ensure Product Quality: Improve system quality through effective testing, monitoring, observability, and engineering best practices.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with the Backend Engineering Guild to establish standards and continuously improve backend systems.
What It Takes:
- 7+ years of experience developing web applications and backend services.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with experience designing, developing, testing, and monitoring production-grade systems.
- Hands-on experience working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD environments.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects, make architectural decisions, and mentor fellow engineers.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience working with marketplace platforms or operational systems.
- A strong understanding of event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with Angular and TypeScript.
