About this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a positive and professional attitude.
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists using the restaurant's reservation system.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
- Maintain accurate wait times and communicate delays to guests.
- Coordinate seating arrangements with servers and managers to ensure efficient table rotation.
- Answer telephone calls and assist with guest inquiries regarding hours, reservations, and restaurant information.
- Assist with special requests and guest accommodations whenever possible.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas.
- Support restaurant operations by assisting with menu presentation, guest flow, and general hospitality needs.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and service standards.
Qualifications:
- Previous restaurant, hospitality, customer service, or retail experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm and organized during busy service periods.
- Strong multitasking and problem-solving abilities.
- Basic computer and reservation system skills preferred.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
