About this role
The group you’ll be a part of
Etch Product Group: Electrical Engineering
The impact you’ll make
Lam Research is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our Electrical Engineering Systems Integration team supporting the development of next-generation semiconductor process equipment.
At Lam Research, we offer more than jobs. We provide opportunities to build and advance your career through challenging technical work, ongoing development, and leadership opportunities within a global engineering organization.
What you’ll do
As the leader of this team, you will manage and develop a team of electrical engineers responsible for the design, development, integration, and release of complex electrical systems and subsystems. The team's scope includes I/O and control systems, AC/DC power distribution, embedded systems, electrical and electronic subsystems, and designs extending to the discrete circuit and PCBA level.
You will provide technical and organizational leadership throughout the product development lifecycle, guiding system requirements, design approaches, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, suppliers, and other partner organizations to ensure electrical designs meet system-level functional, performance, reliability, and operational requirements.
You will also be responsible for developing the technical capabilities of the organization, mentoring engineers and technical leaders while advancing engineering methods, tools, processes, and training to support continued innovation and engineering excellence.
Who we’re looking for
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of relevant engineering experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a related complex-equipment industry, including 6–8 years of engineering management experience.
- Demonstrated success leading engineering teams in fast-paced product-development environments with evolving technical requirements, schedules, and priorities.
- Strong technical background in complex electrical systems integration, control systems, AC/DC power distribution, embedded systems, and electrical/electronic subsystem design.
- Demonstrated hands-on engineering experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCBA development from schematic through qualification and production release.
- Working knowledge and practical application of applicable industry safety and electrical standards, including SEMI S2/S22, NFPA 79, NEC, UL, IEC, and related standards.
- Experience working with external suppliers and contract manufacturers supporting PCBAs, cable assemblies, power distribution assemblies, and related electrical hardware.
- Strong analytical, system-level troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to define and drive functional requirements, resolve cross-functional technical issues, and lead engineering execution in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present technical information and recommendations.
Preferred qualifications
- Lead and manage an Electrical Engineering Systems Integration team responsible for the design, development, modification, and evaluation of electrical and electro-mechanical systems, embedded systems, and power distribution.
- Provide technical direction, resource allocation, mentoring, and engineering guidance to ensure successful execution of development programs and projects.
- Lead the development, definition, and refinement of system and subsystem functional requirements and specifications in partnership with Subject Matter Experts and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Drive electrical systems integration across electrical, mechanical, controls, software, materials, and other engineering disciplines to ensure designs meet system-level requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, product support, productivity, supply chain, suppliers, and other organizations throughout product development and lifecycle activities.
- Oversee the development and execution of test plans and procedures to verify that technical, functional, and operational requirements are met and appropriately demonstrated.
- Review and analyze engineering data, design documentation, test results, and technical risks to support sound engineering and program decisions.
- Provide technical leadership and represent the Electrical Engineering organization in design, project, and program reviews.
- Guide the evaluation and integration of custom and OEM electrical and embedded-system components and subsystems.
