Karthik Resume 2026
Hello Talented Techie!
To tackle the biggest challenges of our time, we need inquisitive minds with the ambition to make the impossible possible. Siemens is your place to thrive, challenge the status quo, make a difference, and grow into a team of innovators who share your passion for tech. Are you in?
We are looking for a Technical Expert - Semantics and Knowledge Graph
Are you passionate about pioneering the future of industrial knowledge graphs and semantic technologies? We are looking for an energetic and visionary senior expert to join our R&D team in Bangalore.
Our Research Group (Semantics Data & Engineering) is part of Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence (DAI) Technology Field of Research. We are a passionate global team of researchers, data scientists, and architects distributed across the globe. We strive to solve complex problems in various domains ranging from mobility, industry, energy, and buildings to smart cities by applying methods and principles of data analytics and artificial intelligence. We are looking for equally passionate researchers to join us in this exciting journey of finding innovative solutions to non-trivial industrial problems.
You’d describe yourself as:
· Drive Semantic Technologies & Knowledge Graph Research over a horizon beyond 3 years
Ø Lead the design, development, and evolution of enterprise-grade Knowledge Graphs (KGs) leveraging Semantic Web standards, RDF/RDFS, OWL, SHACL, and SPARQL.
Ø Architect and implement advanced ontology engineering frameworks, automated reasoning engines, ETL & data harmonization pipelines for complex industrial domains.
Ø Explore and deploy graph embedding techniques (e.g., Graph Neural Networks) to capture structural and semantic representations of industrial assets and processes.
· Integrate Knowledge Graphs with Generative AI & LLMs
Ø Pioneer cutting-edge methodologies combining Knowledge Graphs with Generative AI, enabling KG-enhanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (GraphRAG), knowledge-grounded text generation, and hallucination reduction.
Ø Contribute to the training, fine-tuning, and inference optimization of Large Language Models (LLMs) using structured semantic data and domain-specific knowledge graphs.
Ø Build semantic guardrails, validation frameworks, and intelligent reasoning agents that bridge symbolic AI with statistical deep learning.
· Research Leadership, IP Creation, and Publications
Ø Spearhead original research in semantic technologies, graph AI, and neuro-symbolic reasoning, translating theoretical breakthroughs into scalable industrial solutions.
Ø Actively contribute to creating intellectual property (IP), filing patents, and publishing research findings in top-tier AI/Semantic Web conferences and journals (e.g., ISWC, ESWC, NeurIPS, KDD).
Ø Mentor junior researchers, foster a culture of scientific inquiry, and collaborate with academic partners and global cross-functional teams.
· Collaborate and Contribute in a Fast-Paced Environment
Ø Work effectively in an agile, dynamic team environment, delivering technical implementations with complex dependencies and requirements.
Ø Commitment to ethical AI practices, including bias mitigation, fairness, transparency, and data privacy.
Ø Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, Siemens business units and non-technical stakeholders to jointly define and implement technology roadmaps and solutions.
You’ll create impact by:
· PhD or master’s degree in computer science, Artificial Intelligence, Semantic Web, Data Science, or a related field from a reputed institute.
· Experience:
Ø 8–12 years of hands-on and leadership experience in Semantic Technologies, Knowledge Graphs, and related AI fields, with a strong track record of applied research and development.
· Technical Expertise:
Ø Deep expertise in Semantic Web standards (RDF, OWL, RDFS, SPARQL, SHACL, SKOS) and ontology development tools (e.g., Protégé, TopBraid).
Ø Hands-on experience with graph databases (e.g., Altair GraphStudio, GraphDB, Amazon Neptune, Neo4j) and semantic integration pipelines.
Ø Good understanding of graph embedding techniques and Graph Neural Networks (GNNs).
Ø Background in leveraging Knowledge Graphs for Generative AI workflows, including GraphRAG, LLM fine-tuning, and Neuro-symbolic architectures.
Ø Strongly desirable to possess application domains aligned with Siemens businesses such as Industrial Automation, Smart Infrastructure and Mobility.
Ø Strong publication record in reputed peer-reviewed conferences and journals, with demonstrated experience in IP generation and patent filing.
· Analytical Mindset:
Ø Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to design and implement novel AI and semantic solutions.
Ø Dedication to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest advancements in Knowledge Graphs and Generative AI.
Ø Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across geographically diverse teams.
