Delivery Assurance + New Part Introduction Engineer

Location: Home-Based – Israel (Regular Supplier Site Visits Required)

Travel Requirement: Up to 50%, primarily within Israel, with occasional European travel.

Role Overview

The DAFR / NPI Engineer will support aerospace suppliers in achieving on-time delivery of aero-engine components to meet customer engine production schedules, aftermarket spares requirements and New Product Introduction (NPI) milestones.

The role combines proactive delivery assurance with NPI capacity assessments and manufacturing readiness evaluations, ensuring suppliers have the capability, capacity and resources to meet both current production commitments and future programme requirements.

Key activities include identifying production bottlenecks, capacity constraints and delivery risks up to 12 months in advance, where data permits, and developing mitigation, recovery and improvement plans. This supplier-facing position requires expertise across supply chain management, manufacturing, production planning, procurement and quality assurance. Although home-based, regular on-site supplier engagement is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery Assurance & Supplier Performance

• Monitor supplier delivery performance, primarily across Israel, to meet customer production and spares requirements.

• Proactively identify manufacturing bottlenecks, capacity constraints and future delivery risks, assessing potential impacts up to 12 months ahead.

• Develop and drive mitigation, recovery and continuous improvement plans to protect delivery commitments.

• Monitor production schedules, ERP/MRP data, work-in-progress (WIP), material availability and quality issues.

• Collect and analyse leading indicators, including raw material availability, WIP progression, quality non-conformances and sub-tier supplier performance.

• Conduct supplier site visits, production assessments and gap analyses to identify operational risks and improvement opportunities.

• Validate supplier delivery commitments, track corrective actions and provide accurate forecasts and recovery updates.

New Product Introduction (NPI)

• Conduct supplier capacity assessments for new aero-engine components and NPI programmes, evaluating readiness to achieve planned production volumes and delivery milestones.

• Assess manufacturing capability, available machine capacity, labour, tooling, fixtures, material availability and sub-tier supplier readiness.

• Review production processes, manufacturing cycle times, lead times, throughput and equipment utilisation to identify capacity constraints.

• Evaluate supplier production ramp-up plans, ensuring capacity and resources are aligned with forecast demand and programme requirements.

• Identify risks associated with new part introduction, including manufacturing bottlenecks, long-lead materials, tooling availability and process qualification.

• Support manufacturing readiness reviews, production planning and capacity improvement initiatives.

• Develop and monitor NPI mitigation and action plans, escalating risks that could impact programme milestones or production readiness.

• Collaborate with customer engineering, procurement, quality and supplier teams to support successful transition from NPI into serial production.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

• Build effective working relationships with supplier management, engineering, procurement, quality and customer programme teams.

• Analyse and present supplier delivery, capacity and NPI readiness data, providing clear reports and actionable recommendations.

• Collaborate with Supplier Development Leaders and customer stakeholders to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Work Experience

Manufacturing & Engineering

• Understanding of manufacturing processes, including machining, forging, casting, assembly and special processes.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing documentation.

• Experience or understanding of manufacturing capacity assessments, production planning and process readiness.

• Knowledge of manufacturing cycle times, production throughput, equipment utilisation and capacity constraints.

• Familiarity with work instructions, control plans, manufacturing quality processes and corrective actions.

Supply Chain & Operations

• Experience in supply chain management, manufacturing engineering, production planning, procurement, supplier development or supplier quality.

• Understanding of material planning, inventory management, production capacity and supplier delivery performance.

• Experience using SAP or equivalent ERP/MRP systems.

• Strong analytical and IT skills, including data analysis, reporting and performance tracking.

Desirable Experience

• Experience within aerospace, aero-engine manufacturing or precision engineering, ideally supporting suppliers in Israel.

• Previous involvement in NPI programmes, manufacturing readiness reviews or supplier capacity assessments.

• Knowledge of production ramp-up planning, capacity modelling and manufacturing process validation.

• Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI), PPAP and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).

• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, DMAIC or structured problem-solving methodologies.

• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Experience conducting supplier assessments, audits or continuous improvement projects.

• Familiarity with logistics, shipping and distribution processes.

Key Competencies & Requirements

• Fluency in Hebrew and English, both written and spoken.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

• Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently in a home-based, supplier-facing role.

• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to influence suppliers, drive corrective actions and deliver measurable improvements.

• Effective time management with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities and programme requirements.

• Continuous improvement mindset and ability to identify and implement operational improvements.

• Commitment to professional standards and compliance with supplier health and safety requirements.

• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel up to 50% of working time, including occasional international travel.
