The Opportunity

We are partnering with a rapidly scaling compounding pharmacy dedicated to providing customized, critical medications to underserved patient populations across the country. Operating as a true 503A pharmacy at scale, they are pioneering innovative clinical verticals—including rare disease treatments, bespoke telehealth networks, and clinical trial support.

Because they operate in a highly specialized and evolving regulatory space where clear legal precedent is often non-existent, they are seeking their first-ever In-House General Counsel . This is a rare opportunity to leave behind the repetitive compliance grind and billable hours of traditional law practice. Instead, you will join a collaborative executive team with a predictable Monday-Friday schedule to build a high-impact, strategic legal department from the ground up.

Who We Are Looking For

We need an agile, business-minded legal executive who excels at navigating uncharted regulatory territory. We are looking for a strategic partner who can independently analyze complex, novel regulatory frameworks from first principles, formulate a legally sound position, and confidently defend it. You will act as a true business enabler—balancing regulatory protection with commercial growth to ensure we scale safely without bottlenecking our sales pipelines.

Core Responsibilities

Regulatory & Compliance Strategy: Act as our primary legal defender navigating 50-state Board of Pharmacy rules, FDA compounding guidance, DEA compliance, and USP standards (<795>, <797>, <800>).

Telehealth & Partnership Agreements: Draft and execute robust contracts for virtual care partners, direct-to-consumer models, and B2B telehealth services, ensuring compliance with federal guidelines (AKS, Stark Law) and proper revenue flows.

Commercial Contracting & Sales Support: Modernize and streamline our contract management process to accelerate provider onboarding and B2B sales. Negotiate all critical vendor, technology, and hospital agreements.

Outside Counsel & Legal Budgeting: Manage relationships with specialized external counsel (such as PBM audit defense or local state experts) while optimizing the company's annual outside legal spend.

Executive Advisory: Serve as the daily legal sounding board for the CEO and leadership team on corporate governance, HR/employment matters, data privacy, IP, and emerging operational risks.

Candidate Requirements

Credentials: Juris Doctor (J.D.) with an active, good-standing bar admission in at least one U.S. state.

Required Experience:

For mid-level candidates: Direct experience in healthcare regulatory law is mandatory (specifically FDA, compounding, 503A/B, or telehealth).

For highly senior candidates: Extensive corporate leadership experience (GC/Deputy GC in life sciences, tech, or digital health) coupled with the executive maturity to rapidly master niche healthcare regulations.

Preferred Expertise: A strong working knowledge of PBM audits, the False Claims Act (FCA), the Drug Quality and Security Act (DQSA), and multi-state pharmacy licensure.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: Targeted around $250,000 (negotiable based on executive experience).

Variable Compensation: Performance-based bonuses or equity participation available for top performers.

Benefits: Comprehensive executive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and generous PTO, alongside a healthy work-life balance.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $250,000.00 Per Year
