Software Automation Engineer – OPC UA & Industrial ConnectivityWe at WeQuel are now looking for a Software Automation Engineer with strong skills in OPC UA, MQTT and Ignition. You will join the client’s Production Automation Engineering team and integrate robotic manufacturing systems into a modern, connected production environment. Your focus will be IT/OT connectivity: building and developing solutions for standardized data exchange between the machine level (PLC) and systems such as MES and ERP.As a consultant with us, you will work with one of our clients, a global leader in industrial robotics and automation. You will help shape the smart factory of the future, working where automation and software meet, together with automation, IT and production teams.Your responsibilities:Integration and connectivityIntegrate robotic manufacturing systems, with a focus on OPC UA and MQTT-based communicationEnsure standardized, robust data exchange between the PLC, MES and ERP levelsTroubleshoot, optimize and document communication solutions in a production environmentDevelopment and information modelingDevelop and configure solutions in IgnitionDesign and implement OPC UA information modelsCollaborationWork with automation, IT and production teams to drive digitalization forwardExplain technical solutions to both technical and non-technical colleaguesRequirements:Experience in industrial automation and IT/OT integrationStrong knowledge of OPC UA, including information modelingExperience with MQTT and message-based communicationHands-on experience with Ignition (Inductive Automation)Understanding of how PLC, MES and ERP systems interact in a manufacturing environmentUniversity degree in automation, electrical engineering, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experienceStrong communication skills in English, spoken and writtenMeritorious:Experience from robotics, automotive or manufacturing industriesKnowledge of ISA-95, Unified Namespace (UNS) or Sparkplug BProgramming experience in Python, C#, JavaScript or SQLPLC programming experience (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell, ABB)Ignition certificationSwedish language skillsAssignment details:Start date: To be confirmedEnd date: To be confirmedWorkload: 100%Location: To be confirmedWe offer:At WeQuel, you become part of a consulting team that values people first – we believe success is created through engagement, collaboration and development.
