About this role

Holiday Experience Coordinator.

Description:

The Holiday Experience Coordinator leads The Grand America Hotels signature holiday tradition: the Holiday Window Stroll. This seasonal team member serves as the hiring manager and leader of the Holiday Hosts, building the team, the training, and the schedule that carry the stroll through the season, and owning its servicing night after night so the experience delivers the same magic on the first evening and the last.

Reporting to the Director of Rooms, the Coordinator carries the role from pre-season hiring and training through the final night of the stroll. It is a role of imagination matched with follow-through, delivered the GALA way: Genuine Hospitality, Anticipation of Needs, Legacy, Accountability. The Coordinator creates the little moments that lead to Grand experiences, and leads a team that does the same.

Why Work at The Grand America Hotel

The Grand America sets the standard for hospitality in Salt Lake City, a celebrated property in the heart of downtown known for the kind of service that guests remember for a lifetime. During the holidays, there is no more joyful place to work, and no role closer to the center of that joy than this one.

Lead a beloved tradition. The Holiday Window Stroll is one of the most cherished experiences the property offers. You will be its steward for the season, and the holiday memories families carry home will bear your teams mark.

Real leadership ownership. You will hire, train, schedule, and lead your own team. Few seasonal roles anywhere offer this level of trust and responsibility.

Room to grow. Seasonal leaders who shine here are the first we look to when year-round opportunities open across the property.

A one team, one dream culture. We foster an environment of respect and genuine support, where every team member is trusted to do their best work and is set up to succeed.

When you join The Grand America Hotel, you become part of a team dedicated to creating extraordinary experiences and to one another.

Responsibilities:

Leading the Holiday Hosts

Serve as the hiring manager for the Holiday Host team: recruit, select, onboard, and train the team members who staff and service the stroll.

Build and manage the Host schedule across the full season, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, matched to guest traffic and event hours.

Lead nightly pre-shift briefings that set expectations, share the evenings picture, and send the team onto the stroll carrying the right energy.

Coach Hosts in the moment, manage coverage and call-offs, and recognize the team members who bring the GALA standards to life.

Servicing the Holiday Window Stroll

Own the nightly execution of the stroll: opening and closing, staffing coverage, presentation standards, guest flow, and the warmth of the welcome.

Walk the route throughout each evening, adjusting staffing and guest flow in real time during peak nights so every family enjoys each window comfortably and safely.

Monitor weather and conditions, and make the call on adjustments so the experience stays safe and magical in every forecast.

Watch for and resolve safety concerns along the route (walkways, crowding, lighting), partnering with Security as needed.

Cross-Department Coordination

Coordinate with Food & Beverage, Engineering, Security, the Front Office, and Marketing to service the stroll, communicating needs far enough in advance for every department to plan and deliver.

Partner with Banquets and F&B leadership to coordinate revenue-enhancing elements, such as food and beverage service and retail offerings, that elevate the free stroll experience.

Support other holiday-season guest events across the property as scheduled and assigned.

Guest Engagement

Be a visible, warm hosting presence on the stroll every night, welcoming guests and delivering service the GALA way.

Gather guest feedback and observations each evening, and apply what resonates so the experience improves night over night.

Document what worked, what guests loved, and what to refine, building the playbook that makes next seasons stroll even stronger.

Administrative

Manage event supplies and vendor coordination with accuracy and care.

Track participation, costs, and guest response across the season, and deliver an end-of-season recap to the Director of Rooms.

Qualifications:

Experience leading, scheduling, or supervising team members in hospitality, events, retail, or a similar guest-facing setting preferred.

Experience hiring, onboarding, or training team members is a plus.

A warm, engaging guest-facing presence, comfortable hosting guests of all ages and leading a team in front of them.

Strong organizational skills across scheduling, supplies, and the details that make an event run.

Clear communication across departments and levels of the organization.

Fluency in additional languages, including Spanish, is a plus.

Dependable availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the stroll season; this is essential to the role.

Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work outdoors in winter weather, and lift up to 50 lbs. for setup and teardown.

The Holiday Experience Coordinators Impact at The Grand America Hotel

Genuine Hospitality, led from the front. The Coordinator sets the tone the Hosts carry onto the stroll. Every briefing, every coaching moment, and every warm greeting modeled in person multiplies across the whole team and reaches every guest.

Anticipation of Needs, night after night. By matching the schedule to guest traffic, reading the crowd on peak evenings, and planning for the weather before it arrives, the Coordinator meets needs guests and Hosts never have to voice.

A Legacy entrusted for a season. The Holiday Window Stroll becomes a tradition one family at a time. The Coordinator is its steward, protecting what guests love and building the playbook that carries the tradition into next year.

Accountability from hiring to the final night. Through ownership of the team, the schedule, and every detail of nightly execution, the Coordinator ensures the stroll delivers its magic every single night of the season.

When performed with care and excellence, the Holiday Experience Coordinator role is not simply a seasonal position but the leadership at the center of a Grand America tradition, proof that little moments lead to Grand experiences.
